Methinks things will get quicker still ... and then maybe telkom will upgrade to 8Mbits .. oh .. wait .. no .. its probably just gonna get quicker ...
 
But..... If I attached 500 BlueRay's to an eagle and let it fly, will That not be faster?

500 BlueRay's is 'only' 200Tbit bud. You'll need to attach 500x500 BlueRay's and then the Eagle has exactly 1second time to fly ! If one disc +case weighs a 100g, the Eagle will have to lift 25t. To give the eagle 1h flight time, you must multiply 25t by 3600 seconds. That's 90000t or 90Megaton transfer rate per hour. The eagle will be so huge, the sky's will darken and the wings will create a mini hurricane. A 10kg eagle can lift about 5kg or half its body weight (under ideal circumstances). It has a wing area of just over 2m square. If 1sq meter of wing lifts a payload of 2kg, it will need to have a wing area of around 45million square meters :D that's a square almost 7km on a side. I can go on and calculate how many newtons it has to generate just to get of the ground (at see level) and how many joules (energy) will use. By now, I am sure, you got the idea - not a chance , not even in theory. The story with telskum was actually real :D they sell you a 4mbit line. In reality is much slower. For short distances, less then 50km or so, the dove will always winn :D - pathetic - (wait for the 64 Gbyte memory stick next year)
