100G R200

On my mtn app cant see it only seeing a 7gb offer or something
I've just posted a screenshot (above) from around 13h20 ; very possible it's been taken away from some numbers, or batch of them, with others (like mine) to follow, soon ?

Counter point, make it slow enough that you can't easily get through 100gb in 30 days and then you never get what you're paying for.
They are going to have to really try hard to make that possible and certainly not in 2023 when even “slow” speeds are relatively fast. In all my years using prepaid data on various networks I don’t recall ever having significant or extended speed issues other than tower congestion or my device limitations.

Personal experience mainly. I've had this Black Friday data contract for a few years now and whenever I try download stuff with it I get about 1MB/s max. It's also useless as a backup for online gaming when I have fibre issues because the latency I get with it is terrible.

The reason I said anywhere in South Africa is because I have tried using this data in all three major cities when I did some travelling a while back and I always got the same average speed regardless of where I was. That being said your experience near the Westville KFC piqued my interest. So I went somewhere nearby for lunch today and on the way back to work I stopped off in the KFC parking lot to do some tests. I used that same Network Cell Info app to find a spot where the signal was -72dBm:

First I tested MTN using just my phone's mobile connection and my first result came pretty close to 90Mbps, which is the first time I have ever seen such a high result for 4G in SA.

I then ran a test using my data SIM and got the following result:

Then I went back to MTN and got a result that prevents me from now being able to say I have never seen 4G speeds in excess of 100Mbps on an SA network:

I then went back to my data SIM, ran another test and got a worse result than the first:

But at least now I can finally feel vindicated in my belief that MTN is artificially limiting the speed of my data contract. The above was tested in the exact same spot using my data SIM in a TP Link M7450, which is by no means a cheap MiFi device. I even stood outside my car and held it up in the air in the hopes that it would appease the LTE gods but the best that did was allow a brief spike up to 20Mbps before immediately coming back down to 10Mbps.

So just keep the above in mind as this is what you are getting when you sign up for large data packages from MTN. :cautious:
Lol, I have had an MTN BF data only contract for probably going on 6yrs now and have never had any speed issues, that including on the many sims all over the country that the data from that contract is shared to.

Gone here too. :crying:
Don't know how or where you're checking - perhaps USSD code *136# and I couldn't find it there - but If you load and register your cell number in the MTN app (Android), assuming you haven't already, then tap on :

Recharge
Made4U
Data Offers

.... you might find it listed to purchase, like I did a few minutes ago.

Ironically, re that "Time period" drop-down menu (which I especially displayed), this special shows under "Weekly" ; if you change to "Monthly"", it goes away - go figure !?

But does state "Valid for 30 days" where it counts, in the relevant line item special, itself.

Yup, for me on the MTN App under Made4U and then Time period -> weekly I see the 100 GB for R229.

Just bought a mtn Sim card. Can't find the 100gb as an option? Not through the app or the ussd option menu.

It has been reported that this deal is not offered to everybody. I am on Afrihost for data, so MTN does not "see" my data usage with them. That could be why MTN is enticing me with this deal to buy data.

Thanks. I need to get a sim card and check

Only available on the MTN app under "Special Offers"
Not showing for everyone

BUMP: Just a reminder that this deal is still available on the MTN app, bought yesterday.
Not for everyone ; was on mine for a long time, but no longer. Neither under Data or Made4U.
