100mbps+ servers to download from

I'm looking for sites where I can download stuff from, at speeds higher than 100mbps.
Please don't say Rapidshares

A couple of us are trying hard to "stress-test" the new Seacom/Neotel connection at the University of Stellenbosch.

So far we've managed to download at 29MB/s from an openSUSE mirror hosted in Europe

Why not just download a file from rapidshare, mega upload, a COUPLE of torrents running, a DC++ Session, along with a few news group downloads, with a VOIP video conversation streaming, HoN playing in the background, 3 simultaneous streams of YouTube, 10 files downloading from various http web sites like microsoft.com and so on, along with maybe a radio station playing in winamp ?

it might be a good idea to turn your speakers down, too.

I know nothing about IP and networks, but it would seem to me the best way to stress test and find the problem areas, would be to download a file at each of the hops in the link. If you get max thruput at those points then you know the link can handle the stress. but then I guess I am wrong.

I think usenet servers should be able to handle the load. There are guys in the US/ Europe managing good speeds from the usenet servers.

Try astraweb. 20 connections for roughly 80bucks. Cant vouch for it to be able to reach that speed though.. Telkom hasnt performed my line upgrade to 1gbps yet..

I could try speaking to a friend who has a 1gb seedbox in France to open up a guest account. No promises though as he's a busy man.

Even better, tell the University to fork out $99 to rent one for a month

Thanks Keeper, but I explicitly said no rapidshare. We've already tried rapidshares and we only get 4-5MB/s. There are a couple of other people already downloading & uploading BitTorrents at 1MB/s+. The max line speed that we reached was 468mbps of the 600mbps - see the MRTG Graph: http://www.zoopy.com/data/media/113769/original.jpg
The reason I don't want torrents & rapidshares is simple: the harddrive cannot handle 20MB/s+ with so many segments. Thats why we ran the downloads on 2 separate PC's with only 2 segments with our HTTP downloads and then managed to get 35MB/s in total - see the spike to 468mbps

Its quite funny to see that my friends are topping up their rapidshare accounts with 100GB and then depleting it in less than a day - LOL.
