100's invade land in Eastern Cape

@copa, I honestly believe we as a nation were moving forward and then came Malema.

Thanks to the ANC government that allowed that lil **** racism is at an all time high in this country.

If the government/ANC don't condemn it they are just as guilty for allowing it to happen.
 
When I'm not on my phone I'll have a look for you, I could be wrong, but I recall this not being the first time I've heard people suggest shooting squatters or being zim 2.0. First time I've heard Malema inspire it though

And it is your love that acts as the rose tinted glasses. I don't believe that this is some turning point that vindicates all the naysayers. There has not been any definable turning point. But that is why many people cannot see the bigger picture. It really is the frog in the boiling pot analogy.

This isn't a turning point, or the icing on the cake or something like that. It is simply another layer added. Always added just as you get used to the previous layer and take it as the norm.

And I hate to point out the obvious, but the fact that you love something does not change it. A daughter might still love her serial killer father because he is her father, doesn't change the fact that he is an evil ****.

i love this country for what it is, it doens't mean i have to toelrate Maleam or the government or racists. this country is good enough without all the **** in it and we ARE moving forward, and the naysayers and whiners are constantly being proven wrong. sure, there is a lot that needs improving, but it seems like all the naysayers are interested in is watching the country burn and not the situation resolving itself.

come on now, how many times have we had uhuru threads and Malema nationalisation threads? how many times have we had people wetting their pants getting excited for war and threads getting banned for racist idiots who think they know this country so well? if i'm wearing rose-tinted glasses then the majority of complainers here are getting off on premature excitement. a thread barely lasts a month, let alone a week and we're already on the next thing to complain about.

i don't have any optimism or hopes and expectations, i just see the situation as it is, media fear-mongering, idiotic people who have no power and people who are paranoid.

perhaps if you don't know me well enough, i've had people tell me that **** is goign to hit the fan every few years, and the time comes and goes. when *I* start getting worried, then you **** is happening, but until then things are over-hyped

I do think that people do get too over excited and think that the world is coming to an end every time. But the sensationalism is simply a counter mechanism to all the people that always say, "no it isn't". I think that it will take a longer time than most people think, but I do honestly believe it will happen eventually. Perhaps not as far as a ZIM 2.0, but that will be thanks to our industry and infrastructure, not thanks to our people fighting it.

All of the ingredients are there to turn SA into the last ex-colonised African country to fall. The odds are stacked against it. If you simply look at it all objectively, not with hate, or with love. Just with pure facts, you will see it. SA has been getting worse for years, and there is no sign of it turning that around in the near future. People like Zuma, Malema and the millions that are blind and stupid enough to follow them will make sure of that.
People like you and me with our little voices can do nothing about it.

perhaps i do have my own views and biases, and sometimes i do become dettached from some stories because i experience them a hundred times, but i am willing to discuss it and learn from it. so far i've had to debate why the occasional person being killed counts as genocide, the actual date of uhuru and why people should grow up and get over apartheid already. these are childish things to me and anyone that reads wikipedia on a daily basis should be able to tell you what is clearly right and wrong.

SA has been getting worse in some cases, but it's not a downward spiral. schools are growing and becoming better, all the jobs i've been working at have been growing, my family of farmers are well off, so i am skeptical when i hear hat it's bad for everyone. people also complain about BEE and despite me being a complete dumbass and having terrible grades, i am constantly finding jobs. maybe i'm just in a different situation or finding things under certain circumstances.

we have to understand why people follow people like Zuma and Malema, they don't want an educated person leadign them, they want someone who understands them and comes from where they came from. they want action, and you know what mob mentality is like. but the banks and the businesses aren't going to let people take away their money any time soon, i can promise you that. no matter what the media says or shows you, banks DO run this country, and when people's money si threatened they take action. it is like that anywhere in the world

But the banks have no power over the masses. They might be able to step in and prevent a dangerous bill from passing if they see that it might cause a problem for them. But what can they do about mass stupidity and fanaticism? I guess time will tell. I have much family and friends there still, so I want it all to work out. I just cant see it though. No matter what colour my glasses are. :(

Well there is this thing called "democracy". You can't just take over.

Besides the ANC have their grubby paws in the Western Cape. Not everything is provincial some stuff is managed at a national level.

Democracy??? Ever heard of 2/3 majority? Yes the masses may vote but that doesnt mean its for the good of the country
