1024k feedback / speed-test

They also tell me everytime I phone them to find out the status of order (to upgrade), that is is currently in testing.

When I actually spoke to a rather nice guy in the "testing" (probably faults) department, he said he really does not understand why some people are getting their upgrade in 10 minutes and others are taking more than 5 days. (I personally have been waiting since Friday, and since the previous Friday for a 512 upgrade (which has not been properly completed) )

im going to upgrade soon aswell, i just want to wait and see how the new pricing structure will work, cause i sure as hell aint paying 5-6k a month for bandwidth for a 1meg line

I spoke with a Telkom tech yesterday who claims that the upgrade is purely a software setting that has to be done on the DSLAM for your port and could probabably be done remotely.

I'll give them until tomorrow then I might as well cancel and also wait to see what the new pricing is going to be like.

Well cancelled my order today - they were claiming that I'd only placed the order on the 6th (where as it was actually the 1st).

What they did is they cancelled my original order and re-ordered it with a completely different order number so they could claim the order was less than 24 hours old. The woman was telling me I had to be patient as it takes 24 hours to activate from the time the order was placed!

This may seem a bit wiered- But I have been getting between 800 and 900 Kb/s download rates on my business512.

Is this to do with the upgrade?

LOL
Probably someone applied for 1024 and they upgraded the wrong port.
Dont complain just keep a close check on your bill to make sure they dont charge you.

Seems to be a new trick of Telkom's ...

I ordered on the 1st ... they cancelled the order ... and then they re-ordered it on the 2nd - WHY ? I have no idea ...

But the line = I'm told is STILL with conformance testing ... which I find hard to believe.
