The average road network speed in Gauteng will drop from 47km/h to 29km/h by 2037 based on current data and looking at a “best-performing scenario”.

Working from home is not always possible ironically for IT dev where training needs to happen with junior staff involved. Ie senior staff would have to take a cut so that more intermediate staff are hired (more self reliant) which will cause other dramas.. it’s all interconnected.

Only good solution is mass transit and making roads less desirable via direct cost/tolls. Sadly mass transit solution in SA is still more costly than car ownership directly (on a consumption cost Pov) and not easily replaced due to feeder systems
