11/11/11

So far I've put in about 40 hours with Two Worlds 2. I think that will probably keep me busy till this comes out :)

Good, so it's NOT just me that thinks FO3 is a load of crap! Just lent it to a friend to see if he can last longer than 2 hours. *YAAAWN*

Have heard great things about Elder Scrolls but never had the opportunity to play it yet...

If you didn't like FO3, Elder Scrolls definitely won't impress you.

I'll try it. For me it's easy, if I am not into it after a few hours game play, I don't bother any more.

Yeeeah, I'm stubborn. I live for that one spectacular moment which makes a game worth it. After 139 hours in Fallout 3 and 39 hours in my last play-through of Oblivion I have yet to discover it in either game. Maybe that's the pinnacle of a successful (not necessarily good) game--something that's not terrible enough to throw out the window (I admit, I did actually chuck my first copy of Oblivion into the bin) but not good enough to actually want to play if you have something better to do... Like clip your toenails. Needless to say, those 139 hours along with Oblivion's recent 39 meant that no, I didn't have anything better to do (my toenails were probably as short as they'd go).

Meh... Didn't you say yourself that it's only worth it if you mod it into being unrecognisable?

Ok, there is something else I hate. If you have to Mod a game in order to make it playable, I get pissy!

I have a few games that I haven't tried that I am going to play this week and maybe try get my hands on a copy of Morrowind on the weekend. Perhaps then I will get excited about 11/11/11... perhaps not...

I still play MOHAA! Not too fussed about graphics. Some games can get away with poor graphics. Some games.

It is ****ing brilliant, Lycan is saying what he says because we had a week long argument about the game, during which I was having a go at replaying Morrowind - Now, I was using a load of addons, which yes, did improve the game, but only in the sense that they added a lot which obviously was not there during my first play-through - That's not to say that the game in itself is not awesome though.

I'll keep the Gothic series* over the Elder Scrolls series any day. Sandbox is all good and dandy, but a lifeless world remains lifeless.

Whenever I think of a Bethesda game, I think of Hannibal Traven, the Arch Mage saying: I've not always been happy with the standards of the Mage's Guild, but Hannibal Traven's reforms have been most encouraging.

That is the epitome of Bethesda--enough effort to show off one or two possibly impressive things their engine can do but not enough effort to even so much as prevent important NPCs from talking about themselves in third person.

Vile developer with zero imagination.

Edit: *Just for clarification, that would be the first three games in the Gothic series (the ones developed by Piranha Bytes)

Lol, now you are just repeating yourself for Datura's benefit. :p

Let's let him decide!
