120mm fan advice please

I got two cheapies running on my Corair H50 rad, push pull setup

Would 1300rpm suffice? Or should I rather go for 1600rpm then I can always slow them down a bit if need be. Or rather, run them at 1300 and speed them up to 1600 if need be...

You know what I mean
 
From the fan speeds you mentioned I'm guessing you're looking at the Thermalright FDB fans? See http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/corsair-h70_5.html - I don't think you'll see much of an advantage going from 1300RPM to 1600RPM. If you do decide to upgrade, rather go for the 200RPM models, as these should be the same price as the 1600RPM and can always be undervolted to spin at lower speeds.

You might also want to look at the Thermalright TY-140, it's a 140mm fan with 120mm mounting holes and is well regarded in the enthusiast community. See http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=592209&mpage=1
 
Well noise VS performance. That is the trade-off. At 1300RPM you'd be hard pressed to find any fan that doesn't make a racket*

*Racket being subjective, to me it is noisy as hell. To others they don't even notice it.
 
went with this instead

3 x Thermalright X-Silent 120mm 1000rpm 19.6db 35.5CFM
3 x Thermalright X-Silent 140mm 900rpm 20.9db 60.42CFM

That will give me,
two 140's at the top (internal -> external) and one 140 at the front (external -> internal)
two 120's on my Corsair H50 rad push/pull (external -> internal) and one of my side panel especially for PP :D

those other FDB Thermalright fans are darn pricey!!

Your room must be that hot?

You're doing this for a revamp (excessive), or to specifically cool your PC / make your HD6950 quieter?
 
The case is designed for that amount of fans so might as well use them all :)

Summer is coming so I want this thing to be nice and cool. yeah my room is hot... :)

half revamp (replacing 120's with 140's) and half to resolve 6950 heat
