16" are expensive tyres !

You did frikkin tell me ;) It doesn't mean you're right ...

My stepfathers Porsches have had Pirelli tyres (964, 993 and two 996's). Just to double check, I contact Porsche Centre in both CPT and JHB. Both agreed that they're not standard ... and JHB even said they were approved by Porsche.

As was mentioned, it could be a few years back - but not anytime recently.

Everything on the Polo accessories microsite is available for all Polos (GTI and TDI included). Your dealer is jerking you by the nuts if he says that those accessories aren't for the GTI! Just don't pick my rims 'cos then I'm gonna have to kick your ass :p
 
I just paid R1800 each for my 17's (215/45R17) :( Apparently the back (245/40R17) are almost R3000 each. :eek:

But I got the Exors on the 1.6 and TDI quote, he said he couldnt do it on the GTi....
Let me phone him and ask again!!
How much extra did you pay?

R1300 each, not sure of the price now. The hubs on all Polos have 5 studs, and I know someone who has a GTI with the same rim, so I don't see why he's trying to BS.

TWT have specials on 16" tires for R570.
I've been fitting Dunlop for many years on my cars. People complain that Dunlop is kuk but for R500 a tire (15" SP7000D) & R550 (16" SP7000* & SP7000D) I can't complain.

I'm not going to race with the Golf so what's the point of paying R800+ per tire.
 
Stop telling people about those excellent Toyo Tires! Mintys will increase their prices if demand picks up :(
 
lol guys i highly doubt mintys will be goin out of business anytime soon!! but the toyos r the best value for money

I'm getting Michellin 195/55/16 ... apparantly it's this size which is rare.

The 16" that TWT have on special right now is 205's ...

Cost is R5108.00 incl VAT, balancing and alignment :/

Almost 4% of the value of the car!
