192 KB lines still 192 KB

check your synch rate. mine was upgraded around 10 July randomly. Now synching at 512/256 whereas it was 320/160 or something like that.

I dont think its a magical 1 August thing. I think it upgrades subscribers in batches perhaps one exchange at a time. Needless to say, give them a call if you are still synching at 320 (speed your modem says it is connected to adsl)

hi, my modem changed frm 320kbps to 2Mbps. But I am still on a 192k line. What should I do? Can I phone and ask for an upgrade?

Thats a good point, We are now paying for "384" so i expect to be upgraded immediatly.

I will take this up with a telkom employee, either drop my price to an appropriate price for 192 or upgrade me to 384 NOW!

you will be paying the lowest price of all the packages for that 384 line... regardless of whether your still synching at 192 or 384... if you cant synch at 384 u will be downgraded in 32kb/s untill ur line synchs... the price how eva wont be downgraded. You were paying 270 for 192, now youll be paying 245...

Just thought about it, Telkom advertise that their 192 line becomes a 384 line. This meens they see both as the same thing, so will have no problem charging the same price for both (i suppose its Telkom, they don't care either way)
