192k Best ISP

Hey guys.

Just got a 192k line installed. Whats the best ISP to use? Im in Joburg, Craighall.
Looked at cybersmart, But blocking your ability to access pop mail from others servers than theirs is no good. They offer R145.00 for unblocked pop, normal 3gb cap. What you all think. THey in Cape tOwn

Need to decide today.....
 
Little bit of gaming, not much. will probably stick to local servers. Little bit of file sharing, email, metacafe. Browsing. etc. Normal internet usage I suppose. Oh yeh and SKype must work well
 
I got a website hosted by afrihost and I wantit to stay with them. So I must be able to access that email.
 
Well i would have to go with openweb.

They offer great prices and even better service :) On top of the 2/3 gig international, depending on what package you choose, you also get 30 gig local bandwidth as well as openbrowse, which allows you to surf internationally after you reach ur international cap.

Just a satisfied customer, which is a rarity in this country of ours...

I did all my transactions with them via email. Their response time is very good. 24/7 7 days a week really. I would try to reach them that way...
 
signed up with imagine , gonna try them out for a month. There is no phone number on the openweb site > so how do you get support ? I would have sogned up this morning with them if they had a phone number? Am I blind?

This POP3 misconception is going on a bit.
I MOST DEFINITLY can get my mail from IS hosted exchange using my cybersmart account.
In addtion, I have in the past run my own mail server, and could get my mail as well.
And lastly, I could host my own mail server using my cybersmart account.

support is no problem via email or you can pm mrBeep on this forum. It always works well.
 
One dislike I have of the OpenWeb website which I have suggested before, is to avoid the use of images everywhere. The telephone number is on this "slice": http://www.openweb.co.za/newsite/images/index_02.jpg

Weekday support: 076 512 56 59

It makes copying and pasting prices, numbers, information impossible and is quite irritating imho.
 
I agree with you brother.

The OpenWeb site is old, and outdated.

We are currently working on a brand new site, with all the features a modern ISP should have.
