197 External IP Issue

Hello everybody,

I would just like to find out why all of a sudden I get a 197.x.x.x external IP instead of a 41.x.x.x IP. Is something wrong with my connection or does it have anything to do with the Fiber Opitc project in my area?

PS: Just bought a new router but the settings are identical to the old router.

Because you don't have a static IP address, your ISP can give you any IP address that they own.
There's nothing wrong with getting a 197.x.x.x IP address.
 
Just be glad that you're getting an external IP address and not some kind of private IP address where you cannot host anything on!

Who is your ISP?

Some time ago there was an issue on Cell-C where certain sites were unavailable depending on whether you were assigned a 197.x address or a 41.x address:
