I'm sure I've also bought it a time or two at Checkers. Have you checked at your local Checkers? And a really long time ago I used to buy the 1kg packs at Fruit & Veg/ Food Lovers Market. Maybe check there too.

So my local Pick n Pay (Observatory, Cape Town) used to stock 1kg bacon for the past 2-3months. It was ~R60 a pack (beats R25 for 250g)

Now it looks like they are not selling it anymore

Does anybody know where I can buy 1kg of bacon at similar prices around Southern Suburbs? Hell even if its not in Southern Suburbs I will like to know.

Maybe try Rondebosch, the PnP there is a little larger, or the Spar on lower main road.
Eskort bacon is pretty shoddy stuff though, its mostly water you're paying for in that "1kg".

Lean bacon is an oxymoron. It has to have fat so that it does not feel like you are chewing your car tyres when you eat it.

To the OP have you considered making it yourself? It is very delcious and rewarding to make it yourself.

I couldn't let your hard work go to waste so I sent them a mail and ordered 3 x 1kg packs. Ordered yesterday morning and he delivered just after 4 the afternoon.
