Has anyone had their 1mb accounts upgraded yet?

I am in CPT and hoping it happens soon.

Just phone 10210 and selection option 1. Follow prompts as though you were going to report an adsl line fault. Then ask the operator reset your adsl profile to reflect 2mbps.

If they refuse then just phone back until you get a kind operator who will help you out.

Just curious, if my line is with another ISP, say Web Africa, is there anything I can do that will speed up the process?

How long do they take to reply on twitter/PM? Would going to a Telkom shop help?

Upgraded to 2mb an hour or so ago. I didn't phone them. Did that with the 384k upgrades so decided not to bother them this time around.

I had mine upgraded to 2-MB/sec on 16 Jan which was their 2nd work day in 2014.
Lucky I guess. I'm in Sandton and connected to the Benmore exchange.
It's working fine, I'm getting about 1760 kb/sec on the speed test, about 85% throughput.

I've just been upgraded to 2Mb/s here in PE but had to phone Telkom and ask them. I notice upstream is still 512Kb/s.
I had to do the same when we got the upgrade from 384 to 1Meg.

Mine was upgraded last Friday in Milnerton but also the upstream is still 512.

Thats what is should be.

Not that I mind too much, but isn't your upstream supposed to be half your downstream?

Or did that change?

@ OP: Got my upgrade 2 or 3 days ago, at 9:30PM. Did nothing to make it happen. Southern Suburbs.

Hehe, I wish. Then I should have 10Mbit upload. That would be awesome.

And no it didn't change because it's never been like that, it's always been:

1 - 4Mbit DS / 512Kbit US
10Mbit DS / 1Mbit US
20Mbit DS / 2Mbit US
40Mbit DS / 3Mbit US

And obviously there are a bunch of inbetweeners depending on line quality and exchange.

Our exchange was upgraded in Dec, but our ISP only switched us over to 2Mbps this week from this week. I still had to call 10210 to get the line speed adjusted though.

Also in running around 1.7Mbps:

Woo. Now just how are we supposed to stay below 60Gb per month (the ISP's fair usage), if we're able to grab that much in 1 week?
