My Partner took out a 2+2GB Special yesterday, but today, when I click on "View online bill" in VMB 10.2, and go to the website, it says
"Bill so far: R349"

we didn't go OOB or anything like that, why is the Bill already at R350?

we've only used like +- 120mb out of my 2GB (or it seems 1.2GB....is the first month pro rata?)

That is normal. The discount gets applied to the billing when the bill run is finalized.

Should you wish, you can PM me the number linked to the the sim and I will confirm that everything is Kosher. Would hate for you to have nightmares of the OOB shark biting your leg off. :D

Well is the first month billed pro rata, would seem so after listening to a very acid gent at a Vodashop yesterday?

O/T - possibly ...

Can the 2G+2G deal be taken out and an already RICA'ed SIM be used - i.e you are not forced to accept and have to RICA yet another SIM card?

I'm sure I read somewhere it's only for NEW contracts. Meaning EVERYTHING new.

@ocleroux
if the 1st month was pro-rata, how will the last (12th) month work? Also pro-rata if the contract is cancelled?

I dont understand what you mean? It works as follows.

Contracts are activated pro rata. If you take out the contract middle of the month...you will get half of the bundle and pay half. The following months will then go as normal...you pay the advertised price and you get the advertised bundle size. When you cancel the contract in month twelve on the st day...then the deletion of the line will be loaded to be effective end of that month.

one more thing - what if you connect at 11:00 o'clock and surf to 3 o'clock in the morning, does nightowl automatically activate after 12 or do you need to disconnect & reconnect?

Disconnect and reconnect please. It is the same as when you are on a call and you are on the Weekender package where your minutes are for off peak only. If you start the call at 19:59 then that entire call will be billed for instead of being taken off your included minutes. The billing system cant switch to and from bundles on the fly.

VodacomData....please will you just confirm? Not sure if it has since changed but this is basically what my training taught me years ago...perhaps it has since changed.

so what is the shortest period that the contract can run if you join exactly in the middle of the month? 11.5 or 12.5 months?

Contract cancellations gets loaded for the end of the month...so if you give notice beginning of the month and your contract ends one the 17th of that same month...the cancellation will be loaded for the last day of that month.

Okay, then, how do you check, how much of the normal 2Gig part you have used/left and how much of the Night Owl 2Gig you have used/left?

With the Cellphone Regimes as at present, my guess would be 12.5 months ... , they score always ...

It is done for a reason. You get your full bundle beginning of the month and the proposed invoice is started at the same time. Loading the cancellation at the end of the month is to give the user time to use his bundle (whether it be a voice bundle or data bundle) for which he/she has already been charged for. If we loaded the cancellation for the same day you request the contract to be canceled it would not be fair on the user now would it if he has got a big chunk of data left still.

Why bill him for the full month, you can bill him pro rata at start, but not on end, no?

It is not fair only, when you bill him for the full month ...

I am not going to debate this. I have learned on mybb that you can try and explain why things are done a certain way until you are blue in the face and you will still not get your point across. I have explained how it works...why it works that way and that is all I can tell you guys.

Contract cancellations gets loaded for the end of the month...so if you give notice beginning of the month and your contract ends one the 17th of that same month...the cancellation will be loaded for the last day of that month.

thanks, that then means you'll have the contract for 12.5 months and I would assume that the 0.5 month that you go over the initial 12 month special, you will not be charged the 'normal' R349 rate pro-rata, but the R149 special rate?

Correct. Not pro rata though...you will pay the R149.00.
