2.4GHz WLAN Indoor Booster

Hi all! Does anyone have any experience with a 2.4GHz WLAN Indoor Booster? Eg. http://www.planet.com.tw/product/product_dm.php?product_id=361&menu_id=14

Basically i'm trying to increase adsl router signal from downstairs inside a house to upstairs the other side opposite the wifi router installation. (+-25m with a few walls etc)

The current Telkom adsl router is 'doing' the job but signal is very low and is always dropping.

Is this booster a good idea? Or am I making a mistake? Is there another way?

I dont wanna be your neighbour! Try using an elegant solution and get a AP that supports WDS mode. (2 AP's can repeat each other in WDS mode)

Check to see if Your Telkom router supports WDS mode... if it does, then just get another AP that has the same mode... then you can link the 2 AP's together.

If not.. get rid of the Telkom one

I'm sure the Telkom one does not support WDS. Everything from Telkom is useless but I will double check anyway

Will both AP's require ADSL line plugged in or only one?

Only 1 needs to be plugged in to the ADSL.......
WDS is Wireless Distribution System... it merely repeats the wifi signal

So the second AP will be able to pick up very weak signal and boost it with no problem to 2 or 3 Desktop PC's/Laptops in its vicinity?

yes... an AP had a much better antenna and can be placed in a better location. It will repeat what it hears on the WIFI
