2 idiots in Maserati's

Never saw that one. Hopefully that's more factual than the initial reports. Regardless, we do have a tendency to jump on the jealousy-bandwagon the moment a supercar is involved in an accident...

Can't argue with that.

I do not understand why people want them in the first place, those things aren't meant to be ridden 60 km/h.

As for racing, Voortrekkers road has been a dicing place for as long as I remember, and as far as I know races still take place there.

Nobody ever said all supercars that have accidents are driven at speed by idiots, but most that end up on fire or in a thousand pieces was obviously not driven safely at the speed limit. What do you think?

Most are made of light weight carbon fibre, hence they break up in thousands of pieces and catch on fire easily.

I once witnessed about 6 trolleys loose in a parking lot crash into a parked F360, the entire rear of the Ferrari was destroyed, lights and bumper were smashed. The number plate and badge survived, the trolley made it out with some very expensive Scarlett paint.

Lightweight carbon fibre is actually rather strong... I know raw carbon fibre is flammable, but it is not going to ignite itself.

Lol, and I thought the SAPS had that special unit made to specifically clamp down on street racing and the like :D.

The City of Cape Town does.... They call them the "Ghost Squad".

I've seen many taxi's and chances caught out by these unmarked vehicles. :D

you get idiots driving every kind of vehicle. Like the two drivers i saw yesterday (one an old nissan bakkie, one an old opel) who were doing 60 in an 80 zone yet had their kids bouncing up and down between the front seats.
I'd rather see a maserati speeding by 20km/h than that kind of nonsense. Speed kills, fair enough, but more people die through sheer stupidity and speed is just an enabler.

these guys were far from speeding by 20km/h faster.

on an 80km/h road I reckon they were weaving in and out of the traffic doing probably 120km/h maybe more, I saw at least 3 cars that had to swerve/slam on anchors to avoid a collision so there was a fair degree of stupidity associated with the speed
