I have 2 Netgear 834GT wireless routers... Well, 4 minutes ago, I had one.. and all is fine. It's connected to the net, and all my wirelss devices are happy and connected.

However, I just got an XBOX 360...

I thought it had built in WiFi for Internet connection - but it doesn't.

So, I have 2 spare Netgear 834GT's. Would it be poissible to plug one in near the XBOX, and connect it via ethernet cable... and then have that router connect to my current router, so that the XBOX can get internet?? Is this possible?

Does it involve bridging?

Hope someone can help..

yep, its possible. u just have to set one of the routers up as an access point. this can be done by giving it the same SSID, WEP/WPA key and putting it on the same channel as the main router, and disabling DHCP on the access point.

Thanks.
This would be great if it worked, but I am battling...

OK, Mode is set to modem on the router NOT connected to the Telephone... ie.. doesn't handle the DSL connection... ie, the router that will sit next to the XBOX360.

Other settings on that modem:

Mode: Modem
SSIS: MyNetwork
Region: Europe
Channel: 3
Mode: g & b
Enable Wireless Access Point: ON
Allow broadcast of SSID: Off
Wireless Isolation: Off
Security: WEP, Open System, 64bit
WEP Key1 the same on both routers.
LAN IP Address: 192.168.255.10
Subnet: 255,255,255,0

Settings on the router that IS connected to the DSL line:

Mode: Modem + Router
SSIS: MyNetwork
Region: Europe
Channel: 3
Mode: g & b
Enable Wireless Access Point: ON
Allow broadcast of SSID: ON
Wireless Isolation: Off
Security: WEP, Open System, 64bit
WEP Key1 the same on both routers.
LAN IP Address: 192.168.255.1
Subnet: 255,255,255,0

Does that all look OK?

try putting the one next to the xbox into router mode

The ADSL side of things on the XBox side makes no difference - set it/leave it at defaults.

The ADSL enabled radio needs to be in AP, while the Xbox radio needs to be in bridge mode. You could even try AP Repeater, simply giving you better wireless coverage for other devices. (just not sure if the LAN cable will be bridged)
