I am having a lan and there are 6 people coming = six pc's. but our router has 4 LAN ports so I found our old Premium Combo took an extra LAN cable and connected the two.
But I have one question.
How do I make my Premium Combo not make the PC's connect to the internet via the premium combo but instead let it use the billion router.

Hope this is the right section: PC Hardware and Software

Your explanation is slightly confusing, as is your pic. Is the Premium Combo (router? switch?) also connected to the Internet? Is it an intelligent device?

But I would say the way to do it is to ensure your routing is set up correctly...

Assuming the above, and that your routers are making the connections (as opposed to each PC making PPPoE connections on their own; another option):

All PCs should have their Default Gateways set to the Billion's IP address. This will ensure that they attempt to forward all traffic destined for outside the LAN to the Billion, which will then delegate as necessary.

Provided the PCs have correctly configured network addresses, they should be able to see each other and communicate.

I presume that only one router is actually going to be connected to the net? If so then that makes things more easy. First, go into the Premium Combo, and disable DHCP. That is important, since you are really just wanting to use it as a simple network switch.

Next, go to the Billion, and make sure DHCP is set up there. Now join the devices together with your cable. Since there's no routing taking place between the devices, the Premium acts as a plain switch, and will get DHCP info from the Billion. Your friends will get addresses and will be able to connect to the net just fine.

Hope that helps :)

Yes it is a router, the premium combo router will not be connected to the internet. Have no idea if it is intelligent

The Billion's IP (10.0.0.2) is the same as the Marconi Premium Combo is that a cause for concern.

Is that all I need to do?

I am quite worried because should this not work I might need to buy a network switch.
