2 xboxs live accounts

hey guys... me and my brother have an xbox each, i have xbox live he doesnt...... if he wants to play online does he have to buy a his own router and plug it into a extension?

FYI: the xboxs are in two different rooms... and we dont want to use the same router because then it will "lag"

If you are worried about lag on the line you would essentially need two phone lines coming into the house, having another router would just connect to the same phoneline.

Rubbish (in a good way) What you need to do is upgrade your ADSL from 384...

Although even on 384 it's perfectly fine to run 2, even 3 or 4 Xbox's through 1 router, provided one of you isn't host.

Then your PC is doing stuff it shouldn't be doing.

Your PC is downloading stuff that's wasting your bandwidth. Typical web surfing will hurt as well as HTTP "bursts" and will consume as much as it can get, choking out your console.

It will only lag if there is a computer connected to the router and it is busy browsing/downloading. Buying another router will make no differance at all.

well if you are both playing online at the same time then yes it might, but it depends on the games, if you are host and your line speed.

Have 2 x Xbox's, 1 PS3, 1 PC, and 2 laptops all connected simultaneously to the same router, via a WAP, for about 2 yrs now - no issues whatsoever. As others have said, lag will only really kick in if one of the devices is downloading, or doing something bandwidth intensive like watching a streaming video. I have a 4meg connection - casual browsing doesn't really seem to have a noticeable impact on lag, however I'm sure that with a 384 connection, as Doobiwan mentioned, HTTP bursts will tend to choke out your available bandwidth for 2 or 3 seconds.
