20 Hour helpdesk call

rpm, I don’t know where you got this one from. But I seriously thought, before reading this article, that there was NO one on earth that had the patience to wait longer than 2 hours MAX on Any helpline. Secondly, I thought that SA was the only place where one needed any such patience at all! With all the Telkom's and and and where you Always have to wait in a Queue, I don’t think of it as strange to wait.

But no, after 1.5 hours I would start wondering whether there could be something wrong with the system. After 1.8hours start to give up and after the 2hour mark, I would have thrown down the receiver.

And oh my, After 8 Hours, I think I can safely call her crazy, no? Because common! After 8 hours of waiting on a line, even after 4, If you are not in or near SA, then it is Safe to blame it on a system fault!!

I think I need to go get some sleep. This story made me tired

my max was about 30 min for telkom:mad: for 9 days every day till a tecky fixed the sh1te they made on my adsl install:mad::mad::mad:

When you phone BT and don't get an operator straight away (you usually do), the first option you get *before* going into the queue, is to leave your number for someone to phone you back. And they always phone within a couple of minutes. Since I'm sure this woman didn't stand in a phone booth for three straight days, she obviously has some more convenient way of phoning them (cellphone?) so she could have used that option.

As jy dom is moet jy suffer...

When can we expect Telkom to beat this record?
Never. South African people have a lot more important things to take care of than sit on a phone with a telecoms operator that they already know is horrendously inefficient.

It would really suck if they chraged her for it, hope she didnt call from a cellphone.

I was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours to a European bank. For some reason I got routed to India and that's when the nightmare began. IN the end, the original operator refused to acknowldge he spoke to me at all and left no trace, despite going through security checks and confirming details of my account.

I'd like to strangle this man with a piece of piano wire, slowly so I can see his eyeballs bulge. ;) A nameless person on the end of a phone line 6000 miles away can be very confident and Bolshi. If I had the money, I would fly over there and introduce myself - now that would shake him up :D

she was either very desperate or well sheesh. waiting for two hours for someone to answer a phone!?
