Ag you're talking a load of kark. Things are really bad in the country right now, but there's still a f-side better for the majority than they were. We're right to all be angry with the corruption and useless current government but pining for the past is only a white thing. Not a single black person wishes apartheid back.

Some do not realise, have no idea how *** things were for the majority. And doing the old , oh it has been 20 years, look what they have done to the country debate... awesome sound bites, and is able to stroke the ego of superiority complex ...but you know what, cause and effect...- narrow-mindedness of the past, effects being felt now. Bitch, moan, complain...suck it up...we in the **** fest together, unlike in the past...where some were shielded...either we going to make it , or we not....but never say crap that things are worst than during Apartheid.

I heard that bomb go off and we lived 10 km away in Umbogintwini. My grandfather was with the police then and remember him phoning my dad and telling us not to leave the house as there might be more attacks in Toti.

These sick fkers placed that bomb in a rubbish bin right next to where Santa Clause was sitting on his podium with children on his lap and parents taking photos. The mall was packed with children.

Edit: Ask almost anyone in Amanzimtoti about this and you'll still see a lot of emotion and anger.

And let's face it, a lot of things were a lot better when the Nats were running things. Not because of apartheid, just because of a better ethos.

Better for whites or better for the country as a whole?

Let's face it, the N.S.A. is better in ideology and theory, best constitution in the world is often mentioned.

The ambitious can achieve what they previously could not (despite the old S.A. producing more black millionaires than the rest of sub-Saharan Africa combined) but in practice we do not have a flourishing society or economy and many things were indeed better in the old S.A. It would however take some character for a black person to admit this because it is more convenient to lay all that is wrong at the hand of Apartheid and the past.

BS.

Care to name some examples of the "many things were indeed better in the old S.A." -am always intrigued by these statements because no one actually gives examples. The suspicion being that you are trying to say "as a white person, things would have been better for me in the old SA"

Black people could go into many safe areas of the country and not be afraid of being murdered/raped. Now there are no safe areas.

...well hello 1980's mindset...ignorance is bliss

oh cool, lets play ...how things were better under minority rule/Apartheid....you forgot the other side of the coin, black people did not have freedom of movement.... Your turn....

It amazes me to see how things deteriorate on a daily basis: roads, littering, service delivery, policing, safety, parastatals but people seem incapable to understand that if day 4 is worse than day 3 and day 3 is worse than day 2 that things were better day 1. I really do remember good service delivery, affordable and efficient healthcare, safe neighborhoods without fences around you yard, leaving the door open at night, leaving the keys in the car at times, efficient schooling (textbooks were provided and if you forgot to hand one back it was not the end of the world) etc. etc.

You mean apart from the areas that where for "whites only"? So no black person was ever raped or murdered in the old SA? How about the fear of getting locked up by the security police and then murdered while in custody?

That's the kicker, incidents of white on black rape was simply unknown, if it ever happened.

Sounds like a fool's paradise to me, better for you as a white person doesn't mean better for the population generally.

As I said, the NSA is better in ideology and theory and constitution. In practice it is a quagmire and soon to be hell on earth at the rate things are deteriorating.

:wtf: So if it's black on black rape is somehow matters less, how about white on white rape? You realise the whole idea of apartheid was to keep the races apart?

Funny, Andrew Zondo was able to walk right into a mall with a limpet mine. That sounds pretty free to me.

No, it does not matter less. What I stand for is the standards of my own culture and respecting the ways of other cultures. I do not want to integrate different cultures, with the distinction from the past that I do not believe that culture is genetic and hence you can have people of different races integrating into the same culture.
