200 Mbps home network using your power lines

bit of a gamble to buy, then - it'd only be useful to me if i could use it in two buildings on the same property.
 
Hmmm, why oh why, Netgear brought something similar in the form of the HDXB101 about 4 years so I don't see the big surprise. Even had the WGX102 which was wireless and travelled at 54mbps, cost R1800, 3yrs ago.
 
You would want to test it in this situation first - this type of device will not work across transformers or different phases.

Quite useless then, except if you have a mansion of some sort.

Their lines? How do you figure that? The wires in my house belong to me.
