Indeed. Slightly tweaked, though. And the Jaguar derivatives of those Ford petrol engines were the only ones with variable valve timing.

R55K is peanuts, if losing the full purchase price won't hurt I'd get it.
I have heard some horror stories for some relatively minor repairs in terms of the costs involved, it's not for nothing how little the current owner is able to sell it for.
Car will probably run flawlessly for the duration you have it if driven sedately but keep in mind a solid repair may run over the purchase price and they have to be taken to a Jag specialist for many repairs, not just any independent garage can work on them. I'd at least confirm there is a independent garage that can work on it within a reasonable distance from you before you buy it.

The block was from the Ford V6, but the entire top half of the engine was Jaguar. Suspension was largely from the Mondeo; not a bad thing, as the Mondeo had quite a decent suspension. I think the total content from Mondeo was about 15%.

Only hesitant becaise I know so little about them, but it looks like good news from everybody here.
