Now that all the pre-season formalities are done and Celtic already have some silverwear to kick off the season (Yay:D). Its time to look forward to a new season.

I know that most forumites watch European soccer, but with the better broadcast quality from Supersport, why don't you catch a game every now and then, who knows you might just like it. Oh, you can always use the mute button if you don't like the Vuvuzela.:D

First up is the SAA Supa8 with Celtic and Sundowns should be a cracker!

i've watched south african soccer after 20 minutes i went outside to our newly painted wall and watched it dry for the duration of the psl game

Then I guess I should not expect to see you posting on this thread a lot:D

I'll be following the league below this season (Western Prvince United) as I think they stand a good chance. And also a friend of mine is involved with the club. I hope they can make it to the PSL soon :)

Dude they finished 2nd from the bottom last season, I hope they have done something very drastic if you think they have a chance.;)

Yeah I know :D They have a handfull of new guys this season including a player from......... wait for it....... Namibias national team. :D They are alot more confident going into this season than last season.

Sundowns will take the title again.Have'nt been impressed by Cheifs and Pirates during pre season.

With all three points in the bag against Ajax, not a bad start at all. Celtics missed Mahlatsi in front of goal today, too many con-converted chances.

Premier Utd 0 Chiefs 2
Pirates 0 Swallows 1
Sundowns 1 Amazulu 2
Santos 2 FS Stars 2
Leopards 2 SuperSport 0
Arrows 0 P Stars 1
Celtic 1 Ajax CT 0
Cosmos 0 Wits 0

The most shocking result has to go to Amazulu for pulling a great upset by beating Sundowns, proving they are beatable!

This was far the biggest upset of the league.
But I know Sundowns will bounce back as they did against Celtic. The true mark of a champion is the ability to pick up the pieces.

What do you guys think of the Supersport soccer coverage so far ?
I think it's great except for games being shown on SS6 which is not available to compact subscribers.
Soccer is the only reason I got DSTV and I couldn't see myself paying the full price when I hardly watch other channels. SS need to realise that most local soccer followers are compact subscribers and should therefore screen local matches on SS3 and screen European matches on SS6.

The commentary is much better than the crap disshed out by SABC.

Fully agree. I can't stand listening to the SABC's so called analysts.

The Supersport coverage is cool so far, they tried some new camera ideas for the Charity Cup but I did not see the same cameras available for some other games. As for the channels issue, I understand what you are going through, luckily for me I watch most sports, with the exception of golf.

And thank heavens I don't have to listen to Walter Mokoena and Company attempting to analyse the games. The only way SABC can get me watching PSL on their channel again is if the commentators and analyts happen to be topless models. :D

I dont mind the SABC studio presenters and guests.I just cant stand the commentators like TT , Tabisio Tema.He is useless. All the presenters commentators know jack all about european football. They were all raving about Tottahams Jemaine Jenas. However the British media and fans think he is crap

I personnaly couldn't care less about english football, unless the top three (With the exception of chelsea) are playing. I watch psl games with my buddies, and some of them take it very hard when their team looses. We don't have the same affinity to english teams. Just another game AFAIC.
