That's very true. There's something about local football that makes you to look forward to 15:00 on weekends. The standard is not comparable to euro soccer but it's still our football. I also don't see many local rugby fans going crazy over Australia/New Zealand's local rugby teams.

That's very true. There's something about local football that makes you to look forward to 15:00 on weekends. The standard is not comparable to euro soccer but it's still our football. I also don't see many local rugby fans going crazy over Australia/New Zealand's local rugby teams.
It's not Walter, It's WaaaaaaaaaalterThe Supersport coverage is cool so far, they tried some new camera ideas for the Charity Cup but I did not see the same cameras available for some other games. As for the channels issue, I understand what you are going through, luckily for me I watch most sports, with the exception of golf.
And thank heavens I don't have to listen to Walter Mokoena and Company attempting to analyse the games. The only way SABC can get me watching PSL on their channel again is if the commentators and analyts happen to be topless models.
Ok guys, i'm a die hard chiefs supporter sure, but i have to admire the guts that they showed against Astres Douala of Cameroon. Gift Leremi knows his football. Pirates have lost a brilliant player rihgt there. I couldn't help but think that it won't be long before Sundowns loses him to a european club. Anyone else saw the game?
Saw the 2nd half only. Gift is truely a gift from above. I thought he came alive more when he was deployed in the central attacking role.
I'm a die hard Sundowns supporter but I have to say that we are going to struggle a bit this season. So far there is just no cover for Esrom Nyandoro.
We are so vulnerable. I hope the Chillean midfielder is a similar type of player.
As a side note, I would like to congratulate Ama-Bakaniya for disposing of our perennial hoodoo team - Ajax. Let's meet in the final of SAA super8, It's been long since we both last tasted cup success...

Yip, i noticed his sullen face as well. He really wasn't impressed. As far as the game goes, all i remember was being on the phone with my GF complaining about how boring the game was, next thing it's 06:00am and i have to get up for work.
Very dull game.But don't you think it has to do with how negative/overly agressive cosmos is in their aproach to the game? They could easily have gotten another red card or two.
You know how it is, no matter how good you are, if you come up against a K@k team, they invariably influence your game as well and you also end up looking like a k@k team. Jomo Sono stated that his intention was not to win the game in 90 minutes. His plan was to defend like hell and then count on his teams conditioning to catch them in Extra-time or win on penalties.
I think some teams have come to the realisation that they cannot trade blow for blow with Sundowns and maybe Jomo strategy is something we are going to see all season, especially from the smaller teams. Rather walk away with one point than nothing.
Brillliant way of ensuring that spectators stay away from games. Now, why would i want to go and watch Cosmos play if that's their mentality?
I for one would have rather had his strategy than the 4-1 drubbing that Sundowns gave us. There Celtics thought that they could compete and played normally, thus giving Sundowns enough room to complete those strings of pasess and plays they do so well. If you clog up the defense, which Cosmos has a pretty good one, they cant really play in their comfort zones and have to think of other ways. And with Nyandoro out, there did not seem to be any creativity out of them.
Unfortunately i didn't see the Celtic game, so can't comment on how they played. All i can say is that these things happen in football joe.
I was hurt as well, cause i expected them to give Sundowns a tough game, especially after the way they outplayed Pirates the week before that.Anyways, what do you think of this new guy form chile "Jorge Acuna"? Apparently he's played for feyenoord and blackburn. Is he any good?
