So you guys deny that the amount of money bandied about takes the sport out of the game? I dunno, first division and even lower can be pretty awesome footy... and without the hangups of shareholders demanding performance.... politics.... and rich peoples playthings...

Don't get me wrong as an Arsenal supporter - they're there too... I would much rather watch a 10 way premiership than one, two, max three way sport... at least I would rather know that money didn't have such a profound effect on the outcome.

There's nothing very warm and fuzzy about Emirates on a UK jersey now is there...
I would rather see those spots go to advertising for charities.

We all know it's not going to happen tho, so we make the best of a sad situation.

The two biggest spending clubs by miles over the last few years are going to finish in the top 2 for the 3rd year in a row it seems.

Just shows how poor Liverpool are when it comes to managing the club. For 18 years they have no return on whatever investments they made. Now you fans are left complaining about how much money other clubs have. Sad.

OK chelscums bought their way to the top, so no debating there, but United earned every penny from day one. We have the right to spend as we please.

I don't think you can take it out of the game. It is hear to stay. Either you can deal with, embrace it, and win things, or, well not ;)

Also, hands up who has the most successful home-grown youth system in the country? Never mind money. Thank you :)

Yip. Spending 300 miliion pounds ought to buy you a title or two. Long-term success and class, however, it cannot buy.

Bwaahaahaa. Denial it is then :D

Well here in reality net spending was around 30 million. How much was Manure's?

True but the fact still remains. Whoever spends the most wins

LOL so where's this great home grown youth of Manure's then

Rio and Rooney perhaps. :D.

EDIT: Each cost around 30 mill (IIRC). That's more than the whole Arsenal squad

Actually it's a reflection of the current status of the region... Liverpool is going through recession due to mining operations closing down among other things... google it.

Rooney costed 27 million pounds, not 30. I don't feel like verifying the others. Also, it has nothing to do with the money we spent. We bought good players. What have you bought besides Torres?

well you can see liverpool never spend money or they would not be without the trophy for 18 years

im tired of hearing o united bought and chelsea bought that when liverpool and arsenal are sitting on a ton of money

you cannot win trophies without laying out money

business 101

you need to spend money to make money

if your going to buy cheap players expect poor results and no trophies

if your going to spend 100 million on players expect trophies or to atleast be fighting for them

jsheed wait for the westham game, bolton used to be our bogey side as well but last time we play it was 2-0 to united

westham are not the same side and are very poor now

plus i personally believe ferguson let westham win to avoid relegation

catch how can u say chelsea bought their way?

they spent alot on players in a few seasons as opposed to united doing it over a long span

its only arsenal and liverpool who are to cheap to splash the cash

im also so happy chelsea can challenge man united because i fear without the chelsea revolution man united would have dominated this decade like they did in the 90's

The entire base of the 90s team. (two doubles and a treble in case you forgot)

Scholes, neville G, Neville P, Beckham, Butt. You remember them?
