look chelsea deserve this chance

they have quietly been chasing united and arsenal the whole season and have been winning

nivek i disagreed because most of the time arsenal dont have a single english player in their starting 11

must have a good system for england players, heck yea :)

how many stars have come out of united youth program? how many from arsenal?

answer that and i will admit my comment was stupid

im assuming walcott came through their system but who else have they had in last 5 years?

Leeds/westham have better youth academies than Arsenal - just look at the players they have produced...

Steve Sidwell, James Harper, Jermaine Pennant, Stuart Taylor, Ashley Cole, David Bentley are a few English players that came through the academy.. Granted they not at Arsenal anymore, but they are products of Arsenals academy..

Indeed, it is just a pity that they don't hold onto their young English talent for longer - some very decent players in that list!

yea hj decent not world class

phew nivek arsenal really produce some amazing players, can see why their youth system is rated by you as one of the best :)

*** man westham have had cole/lamapard/fedinands etc i would rate that as the best academy for bringing in english youth...

Sidwell - shown he doesnt have what it takes to play in the upper echelons.
Harper - meh
Pennant - not actually that good, mid-class
Taylor - blegh
Cole - brilliant on his day, but a total toss-pot
Bentley - havent made up my mind yet to be frank, but hey, everyone deserves a chance.

As for Walcott, he's a Southampton boy, nothing to do with Arsenal.

Fact is is that they havent actually found players the calibre of Lamps, Joe Cole, Carrick, Scholes, Beckham... well you get the picture. Even Chelsea managed to churn out Terry (enough, me'thinks), though they are otherwise atrocious (but watch out, Roman invested cca 10mil into the youth system, it should start paying dividends soon).

Arsenal are just good groomers and poachers. The biggest thing is that they actually give more youngsters a chance and thus seem to have a better youth policy - they dont.

In terms of classy players still around and SUPER SUPER SUPERSTARS - its probably leeds and west ham united - Arsenals recent batch of english talent does not and cannot compare..

Agree 100%, particularly about West Ham - they are a factory the likes of which Henry Ford would have been proud of!

Ben Arfa Agrees Arsenal Switch?
The transfer speculation surrounding Olympique Lyon winger Hatem Ben Arfa continues to grow as the Sun claims that the twenty-one year-old has already signed a deal with Arsenal after the Gunners agreed a €20 million deal with OL.

Please be true :)

Big problem i have with the Prem is their consistancy in poaching young players. Arsenal are doing alot of poaching of late.

I hope Blatter will succeed in implementing his new rule. The Prem will be hit the hardest!

Please be true :)

MU wanted both benzima and Ben arfa, and if United seal the double this year, i dont see either of the two going to a team like Arsenal. That is why Flamini left more than anything, its because Arsenal cannot win anything lately.

15:30 - 18:00 SS5 FA Premier League: Chelsea v Bolton
15:30 - 18:30 SS3 FA Premier League: Wigan v Manchester Utd
15:45 - 18:30 SS7 FA Premier League: Portsmouth v Fulham

So they showing the Chelsea game live as well now... Preferred the previous schedule tho

Not everyone likes United, even if they're winning :D
