Wes Brown to stay

United risk losing Brown
Manchester United will resist the temptation to sell Wes Brown before the January 31 transfer deadline, despite the growing danger of losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season. Brown has reached an impasse with the club, who have refused his demands for a contract extension worth £55,000 a week, but, despite firm interest from Everton, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager, will not sell. “We did turn down an offer from Newcastle a couple of weeks ago,” David Gill, the United chief executive, said. “But it’s unlikely that a team would come in and offer something substantial for him when he is out of contract in the summer.”

United Transfer Rumours January 2008

Klaas Jan Huntelaar is being touted by various UK newspapers as the most likely United signing should Sir Alex Ferguson dip into the market during the January transfer window.

The Dutch striker has been linked with a move to United on numerous occasions but speculation is heating up that Huntelaar will sign for the Reds.

Rumours still abound that Berbatov may come to OT while Hertha Berlin’s Gilberto and Lyon’s Benzema have expressed an interest in joining United.

Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill have both insisted Ronaldo is going nowhere despite Real Madrid’s interest.

side note: Chelsea have yet again stolen a player that United wanted to sign. Ivanovic from Lokomotov Moskow has just signed with them, after United had shown interest in signing the defender.

i got united down as winners of the treble again :) provided there are no injuries to rooney

when he is out ronaldo and tevez just dont fire

he is the third combination that binds the front line :) without him its all a mess

I agree. As long as those three stay fit I think all three are on once again :)

CR is a winger, if the front line aint performing how can the mids ? Tevez is another story, but CR basically won the EPL for united last season and this season he is way too spectacular. Thats why Real Madrid wants to put down 50million pounds for him. you should never critisize him.
 
i never did

all i said is that without all 3 united dont have much flow to them

there passing game seems a little off

where as when all three are together, they feed off each other and produce some of the best football in the world

yea ronaldo is good but so is tevez and rooney

plz 50 million for ronaldo?

united would never accept that

actually united wont sell him thats for sure, not only is he a superstar but he must generate quite alot of money outside the football pitch

Ya, they won't sell him for sure.

For one, he has a great relationship with Sir Alex who has raised him to be the great player he is today. It doesn't matter how much they offer. It just wouldn't be worth it. What are you going to do with that money? There is no one else in the form that he is this season, not even Ka ka

to be honest i think ronaldo should have won the best player award

he was good last season no doubt, but he is off the chart amazing this season

the best player on the planet at the moment by a mile

i dunno if its just me that notices man united dont do that well when rooney is out

With regards to Rooney. I agree, United are a lot weaker when he is not there. For my money if either he, Ronaldo or Tevez are not there then the balance is not what it should be and United don't perform as well as they could.

I agree. Hopefully he does well at Portsmouth and gets a prolonged run in their first team. They looked very ordinary against Blackburn on the weekend without all their African players.

That is true. Was gonna load my fantasy team with their players as they are playing Derby at home this weekend, but without the AFCON players I am not so sure.
 
Keegan already had 5 years at the helm during 92-97 and in one season finished second to united after squandering a 12 point lead - wouldnt write keegan out from finishing top 10 next season.

Somewhere along the line I read United will settle for £75million.

In the previous season CR played out and out as a winger scoring a hat full of goals.
In the new season Sir Alex who know how to exploit talent has employed CR as winger/striker causing havoc in defenses... 1/2 way through the season CR's tally is already 21... will he reach 40 by the end of the season? I wonder?

I know the edit comes on the late side but add some spice to C-RON.

If things carry on the way they are now, then certainly :) Plenty of poor defences out there still...Like Reading :)
 
united would not accept 75 mil even

how much money would united get for the treble?

25 mil pounds per stage of the champs league as far as i know

last 16 get through 25 mil
last 8 another
last 4 25 mil
final and win must be more than that :)

dont know how much you get for fa cup and prem
