Big-Ups To Nani...
I agree with Red Rupert. I sat down, as a neutral, to watch the Arsenal/United game on Saturday evening expecting to be entertained, which I got in abundance. As much as it pains me to say this United were excellent. The jury is still out on Nani but he played well on this occasion with himself and Rooney providing the footballing entertainment to balance the comic efforts by Arsenal.
Now, to Nani's showboating. He is a young talented player playing his best game for a big club and soundly beating their biggest rivals. but he can't do it with a bit of style. This is further proof that the professionals have lost touch with the fans. Who doesn't want to see the tricks? Who doesn't enjoy the Showboat on Soccer AM? Who hasn't, at some point in their life, sat in awe of a piece of skill that you can't even figure out how the player did it? Did people denounce Johan Cryuff for THAT turn? No they did not. I can understand the anger of some of the Arsenal fans but it should be directed at their own players for allowing Nani the space etc to pull his tricks off. If the occasional spark of genius is allowed, maybe we could all enjoy football again. Otherwise we may all go support Chelsea.

...What is the problem with everyone having a go at Nani for his alleged 'showboating'?
The incident everyone is referring to is presumably when, towards the end of a match his team were winning 4-0, the ball fell at a nice height for Nani to do a bit of juggling. He got carried away and decided to do this for half the pitch, before turning round and skinning one of the Arsenal players and receiving a heavy challenge from another. That's it. Over.
But no, a few of the Arsenal players became infuriated by the sheer petulance of someone doing a few keepy-uppies and decide that this lad needs teaching a lesson. The petty niggles come in, and the final straw comes when the club captain decides to kick the kid in the back of the legs.
My view is similar to that of the Mailbox Compiler yesterday - if the lad can do that to you, and all you can do about it is kick him WHILE HE'S WALKING AWAY, then he really has taken the p**s out of you big time!

...Wenger said that while Nani played very well, he did not need to juggle the
ball.
If I was winning 4-0 against our currently biggest rivals, had helped set up three goals, scored one, cained Traore all match, and then had to put up with their players trying to kick me off the park, I'd be tempted to 'juggle the ball', it shows a lot more respect for the game than Arsenal's pathetic unsporting attitude.
Once again, Wenger was ungracious in defeat, could have better spent his time working out why his squad didn't turn up, why Eboue has got a such name for himself, as a dirty cheating tosser, that any time he shows studs he now gets a red, rather than worrying about ten seconds of kick ups from Nani.
Anyway, in the words of Paul Weller; 'that's entertainment.' A mate of mine put it simply; 'The tie was over, and everyone loves to see a bit of show boating.'
