I hope they don't bring back Ntini for the next one. Langeveld did not have great figures at the end because of a couple of bad overs but look at the effect his tight bowling at the begining had on Polly's figures. 0/17 from 10 overs. Brilliant stuff. Ntini leaks runs at the begining and that rubs off onto Polly because the batsmen get confidence and try stuff against Polly.
 
Also Ntini bowls from the SAME angles at the SAME pace all the time. I cant remember him ever rolling his fingers and trying a slower ball.
 
Perhaps one day they could bring Ntini back, after he goes back to domestic cricket and learns to add some variation to his attack. But for the remainder of the WC we don't need him, and we'll be at a disadvantage if we do play him. I like this team, I think they've finally got it right. And besides, Langeveldt actually bowls about 5km/h faster than Ntini anyway, and plus he swings it. Ntini was supposed to be in the team for pace, and he doesn't even have that anymore.
 
Next Ausi's, Can we do it? I should put a pole up yes/no

I think we can we had to give them the first one. and yes the are beet able
 
Good game.. Nice to see us bowl a team out for a change!
I would also like to see the team unchanged for the aus match, although ntini does have a decent record against the aussies he is really having a poor tournament :/

Pitbull did u enjoy KP's dismissal? Relieved he didnt get a double century or something similar yesterday...

The moment he went out I knew SA was in this game ;)

Kevin Pietersen was caught by Graeme Smith, after Nel 'softened' him up with a bouncer and a ball to the body.

Then Smith hit Flintoff for a four from his first delivery.

Smith was on the rampage!! :eek:
 
Yeah it was so good to see him go for almost scoring nothing and gave the team more belief.

hall was amazing. He bowled so well...I'm worried abt our middle-order. Havent had much batting every time we win They don't need to score too many runs but just score at good rates. Aus-SA semi gonna be interesting. One week to the semi!
 
Yeah pls start rooting for Ponting and Symonds.

Smith did well last night. He captained well, had great field placing and his bowlers helped him a lot. His batting was good was still streaky at times. Will be interesting to see how he plays McGrath and Bracken next week.
 
I think last night's game lifted the whole team and put a lot of confidence back into the side.

Go South Africa - and bring back the World Cup!!!!!!!!!!!! :) ;)
 
Well the Aus middle order also dont get much batting practice out there when chasing. Usually do it with about 4 wickets down. This team we played yesterday also looks like the perfect team combo, we just gelled so well. Ntini got smacked around pretty good by Gilchrist and Hayden in our group stage match and did he try bowling any differently? Nope. Right up until the 10th over he just kept pitching it in the same place. Makhaya and Petersen must stay out of the team for the next game but Im worried that the pitch is slow so we gotta weigh up the batting/bowling strength of Kemp to the spin option of Petersen.
 
Hey I didn't catch SA in the field yesterday (no pun intended:)), only the last 5 overs + our innings. Was Prince playing? You think he's a good inclusion for the semi?

I would pick Prince for the semi-finals, he is a decent 'anchor man' for the lower order batsmen.

Look, England are not such a great team. Who have they beaten of any substance in the World Cup so far? They've lost to SL, NZ, Aus. If we play like we did yesterday we can beat anybody, even the Australians.

Whether we will beat then though, is another story.
