The best thing about yesterday's game was the 4 Ntini hit - I'm sure Kallis is watching it over & over to copy it for his next game.

It looked absolutely fantastic, like a class batsman. :)

Yeah but many guys argue that can you really be called the best in the world if you struggle your way to the finals and then win it? So to me it does matter how you get to the finals. I'll support SA all the way, to bounce back and (hopefully) win the next three matches with a bang so we can at least go into the semis on a high.

Still very possible, you cant write them off, but history tells us that when this happens to SA they rarely come out of it.

You guys think there'll be any changes to the team for the next match? Maybe:

Kemp out - Hall in
Ntini out - Nel in

Gibbs??

Lol you think its the bowlers?? They intentionally went there with low key bowlers and Polly and Ntini as the strike bowlers.
IMO they need to drop a batsmen for our lowsy little Peterson but it still the better way to go.

Can't say anything bad about Peterson at the moment, cos he hit the winning runs against Sri Lanka....

However, if he can just become a bit more 'aggressive', like Brad Hogg. When he dances at the wickets before a delivery, it takes off all the speed and aggression. Brad Hogg bowls exactly like Shane Warne...

Agree with JK8 - they continue to avoid using a spinner, they must put peterson inn - this one dimentional attack benefits the other teams, not SA

Well there's always a first time. :p I'll say it again, SA has a very strong and talented team and Smith (I think) is a good captain in spite of everything that's happened and I definitely think we're capable of bouncing back HARD. If you think about it, yesterdays match was the only really bad one we've had so far. The match against Aus was ours, freak run out and cramps lost us that one. Sri Lanka match we were dominant, we just started to cruise a bit too much and lost our way a bit. The other matches were all against smaller sides which we won. Smith needs to get our guys into the mindset they were in during the summer tours in SA.

Ye you know something, if the Sri Lankans ran for the ball and saved it from 4, Peterson would have ran himself out, but shame I think that would have ended his career there and then!!

In your opinion was Adams more of a strike spin bowler for SA than anyone else?
I think yes.

Kemp needs to go, we were only 3-down when he came in and he took 29 balls to make only 7 runs! That's 5 overs! He's not in the team to tap the ball around FFS, that's Kallis' and Prince's job, he's there for quick scoring and if he can't do it then perhaps give Bosman a chance - what do they have to lose anyway seeing that he's not performing? The thing about Hall is that he has that fighting spirit that seems to be lacking from alot of our players.

The problem is that these guys have become too complacent and confident of their places in the team, and who can blame them when the selectors have no balls to sack them? I was having a chat with my buddies about this last night, each guy in the team needs to be fighting for his place in it. Look at what happened when they dropped Nel, he bounced back with 5 wickets! Now if that isn't an obvious hint for the selectors, then I have no hope for them. Perhaps it's time to sack the damn selectors.

when India lost to Bangladesh and Pak lost to Ireland there were major talks of match fixing, but when SA get a thrashing from Bangladseh we here talks of wrong tactics, wrong selection etc. That's hypocricy man! Why not judge everyone by the same standards???

H_GP ^^agreed again. Selectors are too damn scared of shuffling guys around! It's simple, if you don't perform you're out. I think they're trying to save face because if they were to change the team a bit and we lost with that team, their heads would be on the chopping block so they play it safe and keep the team as is.

This is the problem, I said all along Smithy aint good enough now. He is the only performing batsmen in the team as strange as that sounds!

That match with Aus was never SAs as much as you think it was it wasnt!!!
That was no "freak: run out. It was stupid greedy AB's fault.

SA dominated SL game till the last ten overs, SL came out of that match with their heads high and SA just reminded the world what chokers they can be, SA lost that match psychologically.

And SA beat Ireland in the last over.... thats pathetic IMO.

Playing at home is easy the players families and friends are here watching them they psych themselves up.

Kemp is only there coz Smithy dont like Klusener!
Nel is not good now because of his 5 wickets, the Big boys will finish him.

Thats because they renowned to be involved in match fixing, more than SA even though SA was involved I really doubt it happened yesterday.
But then again I dont know.

IMO the selectors fukd up bad!! They sent a side that would have been perfect if the WC was in Aus or SA, they didnt think of the Windies pitches or maybe they did but were confident in their selection:rolleyes:

We still beat them, how did Pakistan do against them?

Ye the Pakis lost bad. But ye they also had enough politics behind the scenes with Aktar and Asif being dropped etc etc etc.

Beating Ireland who is a minnow team (not like Bangladesh) is not good esp in that way... those games should be buried as fast as possible.

I still think the team is 'okish'. Just face it, the pitch on that grounds is perfect for india, pakistan and Sri Lanka.. exactly the way the indian gov set it up  by assisting in the building of it. Having said that the other pitches don't play as this one does..

Don't make excuses about politics, cricket is about how you play on the day and blaming it on politics is pathetic.

Why should they be buried  And if they should be buried why bring up the fact that SA won in the last over and then avoid talking about how the Pakis LOST to them. :p

Lol you calling conspiracy?? Thats how the damn pitches are in the West Indies!!!! But ye SA has a chance I still believe that.

There is was alot of negative crap going on in the Pakis side, drug bans etc etc.
But ye shame they out first round biggest upset of the WC, 300 mil viewers lost.
Because we talikng SA and now you comparing them to the worst ailling Paki team ever..... Is that what SA is to you?

But its not over. SA just made things worst for them by allowing ENG and the Windies a chance into the semis, they just gonna play harder and better cricket!!

Why did we never look like we even wanted to win the game, though?

From putting them in to bat, to bowling poorly, to batting without any purpose at all. We never wanted to win. And so we didn't.

Nope, just that it was expected that the games there were gonna be tough and be lost. Thankfully pakistan and india didn't make it and SA managed to hang on vs SL. Hence 2/3 is not too bad.. but really shouldn't have lost to bangladesh. Still they weren't expecting to win vs SL.

I am hoping the other pitches are better tho. Btw is sabc3 showing cricket today?
