Stumps Day1 1st Test:
SA 294/3 (Gibbs 54, Smith 42, Amla 71, Kallis 118*, Prince 3*), (Asif 1/51, Gul 1/53, Hafeez 1/40)

Didnt see it as I'm at work myself. Good start I'll say, hope AB and Boucher also fire tomorrow and our bowlers are in shape with Morne Morkel not playing.

Sorry 4 double post.
just saw these quotes.

I don't know, for us or for Pakistan?"
Graeme Smith wittily replies when asked if the absence of Shoaib Akhtar would give an advantage to South Africa during their tour of Pakistan

"I wish I knew. I'll let you know when I find out. But it seems to me that sort of information is not meant for me."
South African captain Graeme Smith isn't amused at not knowing who his vice-captain for the Pakistan tour is

Amla tends to make good scores on pitches that are flat.
On greener ones, he tends to not do that.

I don't really agree.

Seen him score runs on green wickets, and seen him fail on flat wickets.

Most batsmen score more runs in 'batsmen friendly' conditions, and struggles in 'bowler friendly' conditions.

I`ll have to agree to disagree.
There`s a term called "flat track bully".

A guy like Kallis, Lara and a few others make runs in tough/any conditions.

Kallis is Life lol :P

Great Day for SA. Don't think they'll enforce the follow-on. Here's a quote from CricInfo:

"Akmal's form behind the stumps since his remarkable first year in the team as a regular has deteriorated so spectacularly that one journalist quipped that Kallis had found the unluckiest way to be dismissed in cricket: 'caught Akmal'.
