Monaco Grand Prix preview - who to back for Monte Carlo glory?

Will Brawn GP’s Jenson Button make up for his near miss in Monaco back in 2004, when he finished less than a second behind Jarno Trulli? Will the Italian finally score Toyota’s first victory? Can Ferrari break through for much-needed success, or will Lewis Hamilton work his magic for McLaren?

Lots of sports going on this week: F1, IPL cricket, Super 14 rugby, and not forgetting the Comrades Marathon.

F1 heads to Monaco this weekend. Going to be interesting to see which team comes up with the right setup, but undoubtedly Brawn GP should be up there.

Season calendar.

I see that FIA still gonna cap next season!! Wonder if Ferrari will pull out??

I'm hoping that we see a betta performance from the boys in red this weekend, but I have no doubt we wont see much difference to the last race when it comes to times. You still gonna see the Red Bulls, Brawn & Toyota doin well. I feel somewhat in two minds about this season, one one hand its fantastic to see what Brawn have done and its great to see Jenson come frome nowhere to be the "sure thing", But I miss the Ferrari / McLaren / Renault fight!! And as for toyota - eish my wife drives a friggin toyota. It just never seems to come accross as a race type car .. does it?

Aaah, Monaco. Now we're talking. Been skipping F1 for a few weeks but not going to miss this one for anything. Gonna be interesting seeing the new cars on this track.

Reminds of the ferrari circus for all those years :). Funny now it is not ferrari and it's called a circus.

Even though its considered the most glamorous race, its the most boring, IMO. No place to overtake, unless someone makes a mistake.

And I think the Brawns will have a bit more competition becuase of that.

Well this is an awesome race one my of my fav's.

There are many boring tracks that are worse than this if you ask me. I think redbull will get their act together this time around as long as a turbo booster does not block them the entire race again :p

In 2002, Schumacher and Ferrari dominated F1, the Ferrari duo winning 15 out of 17 races (Schumacher 11, Barrichello 4) was that a circus sandman?

With less downforce at play, the drivers talent should be a bigger factor here, bar overtaking.

On an aside - My journo buddies at yahoo have told me that Touronroute hides out here and wanted me to pass on the message to stop making a fart of yourself. Your credibility has long left and no-one hears you any more...

Nope, that was a genius at work...

A genius with the best car on the track? What makes you think jenson is no genius when given the best car like shummi?

Even if jenson won every single GP this year shummi would still be a genius and jenson would still have the best car eh cause shummi only won races in crap if i remember.

Sad if you ask me, your only a genius when given the car to be one.
