hmm Forlan for Torres and a profit of at least 35m might not be so bad.

His age is a worry though

Sky Italia says the balotelli deal is done, only lacking the official announcement. He agreed a deal worth €4 million for 5 seasons. Inter gets €30 million + plus another €5 million if certain bonusses like cl qualification are met by city.

Ciao Mario don't let the door hit you on the way out.

*facepalm*

It honestly didn't even cross my mind that you were referring to Forlan's age. In my view it would be perfectly acceptable to spend that sort of dosh on that type of player if he could do the job for you in the next 3 seasons. If he was the reason you pushed Chelsea/United/Arsenal to the ast day for the league and advanced far enough into the Champions League then he would be worth every penny. The age of a player is irrelevant to the impact he has at a club while he is there.

15 million for someone who could give you 3 great years of service is a bargain, even for a cash strapped club.

If he settles quick and everything goes to plan and the club qualifies for the CL then yeah I'd agree it probably would be.

Yeah that is a little sad to know. I've always been a fan ol' Sol. He'll probably get more 1st team action at NUFC though as he was like a 3/4th choice CB at Arsenal last season. He did put in some stellar performances when he was called upon though. We've lost a rather solid backup CB...
