To answer your question bizkit:

Mars Volta are a progressive rock band who write concept albums. There music is punk rock, jazz fusion, funk and some salsa thrown in for good measure.

Alexisonfire - Canadian post-hardcore band easily accesible. Its pretty much your screamo type music but its pretty energetic. Should give them a listen

....Seems it went from Spectacular (Metallica, Seether, Staind, 30 Seconds to Mars, Korn, Muse) i.e. "Good Music" to something your little sister will listen to at her 14th birthday party (Panic!, Snow Partol <GAWD, they are depressing> )
