ahead of schedule for preparations for the WC, crime is already being reduced - since 1995 the crime rate has been dropping

OMFG. If you think a couple hundred decrease in crime according to South African Government statistics is "crime already reduced", then you are completely high on the worst drugs on the planet. Get your head out of the government's ass.

So you are implying that crime was way higher in 1994 and that after the ANC took over then crime started to drop dramatically since 1995?

Give your head a shake. Did you hear anything? If you did it's probably mielie pitte rolling around inside your brain.

xtermin8or, you MUST start thinking beyond the bullsh1t that the government is feeding you - if you're on this forum, I would assume you like to do that.

Now if the police suddenly decides to only release crime statistics once a year (from monthly), don't you think there is something cooking in the kitchen? Or do you just blindly believe everything that is 'feeded' to you?

Damn, I would vote for ANY person who is prepared to make a REAL difference to this beautiful country, uplift people, fight crime & stop corruption (even Thabo Mbeki admitted recently that a certain state dept is corrupt to the core) - only then will this country be working for all its people & they won't have to hold govt officials hostage just to get an ID book.... :)

Sorry but this does not gell to have the race card out. With a majority of 67% + now a minority is to blame? It seems like the ANC is still in the opposition mode after 12 years. Grow up ANC. Anyway they are possibly practicing that they are being ousted before 2010. Makes you think?
Can see the headlines ‘ANC warned in 2006 that soccer WC 2010 is going to fail’.

Look at the Crime stats... it even excludes data for the past 2 years. Make up your own mind and stop reciting the political propoganda that is on SABC news

Some of the crime is up and some slightly down or leveled out.
There are only two problems with that report and the crime situation.

1. The crime is still totally out of hand.
2. They forgot to include the stats of the thousands of missing dockets.

I'd rather live hear with all the crime and corruption than live in the Republican police state.

16MB of Ram? You have got to be kidding!

LOL. :D
Must be a joke.
Imagine how embarrassed I would be inviting a friend around with a monster of a PC like that. Hehe. :)
Toilet may have a outdated system, but I can see he is on one of the Telkom ADSL IP's. :p Wonder how he gets Windows95 to see the ADSL Router?

Well just wait a little bit - we'll probably end up being a police state too except without the Republican part. :p

You must be joking? There were 205 murders in Washington in 2005.. The only stats I could find on JHB was 695 for the same year, on SAPS's website, but erm.. thats extremely hard to believe

The USA has around the same number of murders a year as we do (20 thousand -ish) [1].

They also have six times the population.

Not the safest place in the world, but a lot better than us. And their rural areas / farms are *much* safer than ours.

[1] From memory, no time to look it up right now.
