There's no reason it should. South Africa year after year sees 10 million tourists come here without any escalated drama/crime relative to anywhere else. Organization wise they've over cooked it if anything so I don't see any f-ups in that department. But yes if something bad does happen (a tourist gets murdered etc) all the doom and gloomers will rise up and claim "That's what I was talking about ! See !! See !!"

Which will be a massive backpedal from "It will be moved to Australia" and " There'll be no electricity" and "the stadiums will be pathetic and not ready on time !" and "They'll all leave in body bags, but only after gang raped it'll be a bloodbath ! " and "No one will come " etc etc

Frankly given the predictions of the doom and gloomers the world cup even if some bad things do happen will be a fantastic success relatively speaking.

A question to the doom and gloomers. Look into your hearts and ask yourself "Do I secretly want something terrible to happen ?"

If you answer yes, first take a moment to reflect on how bitterness and intolerance has turned you into a terrible, poisonous vindictive and malicious person. Secondly, please leave this country.

I think you're confusing the recent quashing of local half-empty foreteller's predictions and stories of things that have actually happened. Sorry, your thread should be getting more attention.

And is the constant complaining about crime and corruption on a broadband forum going to change anything? There's nothing wrong with a little balance IMO. You're welcome to keep bumping your thread if you find that nobody is replying to it.
