As it should. I like how they point out that on the VW everything is optional and it is very square, dull and drab. The ride quality is good because the Corsa D it is largely based on has a great chassis. Good to see the Fiesta interior is pretty much... Ford :crylaugh:

Well deserved win - great car and it won't sommer murder you by catching fire. Well at least not here in SA. Different story in the UK though.

While the Corsa D has much of that - its just that the package is not so sexy. Also I like them using left and right parts of the wheel.

Spy Shots: New Opel Corsa

Our German spy photographers have captured images of a new Opel Corsa prototype undergoing testing. Take a look at the details…

Last week we brought you spy images of the next generation Volkswagen Polo, which is due to be officially revealed later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show (or perhaps earlier, if some reports are to be believed). Now, images of a new Opel Corsa prototype undergoing testing have surfaced. Corsa has been a sales success both locally and internationally and an all-new Corsa is currently in development to rival the likes of the new Polo and the latest iterations of the Ford Fiesta and Kia Rio.

Earlier this year, the Opel Corsa 1.0T Enjoy was recognised as the best offering the Compact Hatchback category of the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards – Powered by WesBank. These spy images show a new Corsa prototype wrapped in heavy camouflage. You can expect significant changes to the grille, bumpers and headlight/taillight design, following the direction of its bigger brother, the Astra. The interior will also be updated significantly with a new design and upmarket materials. Based on a new platform, the next generation Corsa will be lighter than its predecessor and a roomier cabin is likely.

The new Opel Corsa is expected to go on sale sometime in 2018 and its arrival in South Africa is yet to be confirmed. Exact powertrain details are unknown at this stage but reports suggest that turbocharged 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder engines will be offered with range being topped off with a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine.

We will keep you informed as more details emerge.

2018 Vauxhall Corsa hatch spotted with revised interior

Opel development car shows how Vauxhall’s future hatchback will look; larger dimensions suggest it'll have more cabin space

The next-generation Vauxhall Corsa will offer more interior space when it arrives in 2018, as well as gaining technology from the new Astra.

Autocar’s spy photographers have again spotted a five-door Opel Corsa hatchback running on the Continent, showing how the rebadged British model will look.

The development car’s heavy camouflaging hides smaller details, but it looks as though the front grille has been raised and made slimmer, likely giving it a look similar to that of the new Astra. There’s a bar across the middle of the grille, which will presumably be a chrome strip with the Vauxhall badge in the middle.

Inside, a light refresh has increased the size of the infotainment screen over the current model, although much of the trim and materials appear similar to before.

The car’s headlights are also well covered, but the outline of a more aggressive design can be seen, suggesting the Corsa will get an angrier face.

The front wheels of this development car sit significantly closer to the front than the current production model, suggesting both axles of the 2018 Corsa will be pushed out into the corners in a bid to increase cabin space. However, the car’s bonnet looks shorter than that of the current Corsa, meaning overall dimensions might not change that much.

At the back, the outline of slimmer tail-lights can be seen, but covers prevent any other design details from being seen at this stage.

Inside, the Corsa will follow the lead of Vauxhall’s other models and feel more premium with more flashy and decorative foils on the dash and door covers. The touchscreen infotainment system will likely use software first featured in the Astra and it’ll come with optional Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

All variants of the new Corsa will be built upon a smaller version of the new Astra’s underpinnings, meaning both the hatchback and saloon will benefit from significant weight savings over the predecessors.

Engines will likely be a familiar lineup of turbocharged three and four-cylinder units, with the fastest VXR model making use of a 1.6-litre turbo producing in excess of 202bhp.

The current Corsa is offered in three and five-door bodystyles, and the same is expected for the next-gen model. Before this latest sighting of a hatchback, only a Corsa saloon development car (shown in gallery) had been seen. However, this bodystyle won't be offered to the UK market.

Lol...

Get outta here.

Anyhow the current Corsa interior is pretty good for the B-segment.

My main gripe is the Intellilink system is placed way to low down.

I concur. WAY too low to be of any practical use. Considering Audi has their floating on top of the dash. Opel making an anti-statement here. The OPC interior does look juicy otherwise. Suddenly my OPC feels dated :(

Saw another one of those "mini OPC" 1.6 Sport models. I like the look & great standard feature set.

Cool car.

Only 2 slight negatives:

1) Intellilink Infotainment system mounted way too low down.
2) Not a fan of the arse...looks kinda like a half-arsed attempt at a good arse.

The Corsa F is hyped to be a radical redesign instead of an evolution of the current model. Then again, the Corsa D is a brilliant car so I can understand why the E is just a reworked version thereof.
