2015 BMW X5 M & X6 M

Not sure where you get that from. The GT-R is known as a supercar slayer for a reason. Out of the blocks it's another level & can beat machinery 2/3 times it's price.
I think he is talking about the BMW M6 Gran Coupe on Top Gear, remember when they were in OZ? The M6 GC beat the GTR.

Figures were published a while back. Don't remember the publication, but first was the Porsche (GT?!), then X5M, then GTR. I was pretty surprised, too, knowing what the GTR is capable of, and have pretty much put it down to a typo since then. But thought I'd ask the pros anyway ;)

G-Power tuned BMW X6M has 552kW!

Autenzell, Bavaria - With a history of extracting impressive extra power from already potent AMG and BMW M cars that goes back to 1983, Jochen Grommisch's G-Power skunk works has a reputation to uphold.
And we reckon their latest sledgehammer conversion does just that; not that he uses a uses a sledge on the car - he turns BMW's X6M into one!

G-Power offers three stages of extra clout, starting with a basic software re-map that boosts the X6M's 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 from 423kW and 750Nm to 478kW and 850Nm, either by fitting a plug-and-play Bi-Tronik 5 V1 power module - which is available as a kit for customers around the world at €4165 (R67 450) - or the programmable BiTronik 2 V1 unit, which enables G-Power in Autenzell to optimise its parameters individually, in-house, for a specific car and its owner's preferences - at a cost of €3916.39 (R63 400) including installation.

Stage 2 is calibrated around a set of smooth-flowing stainless-steel downpipes, which will set you back €3391.50 (R54 950) - plus €493.85 (R7998) for installation unless you do it yourself.

Then you add either a Bi-Tronik 5 V2 plug-and-play power module at €4700.50 (R76 180) or a Bi-Tronik 2 V2 in-house software re-map at €4392.39 (R71 175) installed, to give you 525kW and 905Nm.

Expensive hardware

Stage 3 is good for a claimed 552kW and 980Nm, but it takes a lot more hardware to do it. You'll need modified turbos, which are machined at Autenzell to take larger-diameter turbine and compressor wheels, and their housings gas-flowed. These cost €4581.50 (R74 232) each - and you have to supply the turbos!

Then, to the stainless-steel headers you add a specially-designed titanium exhaust system with two rear silencers and four 100mm tailpipes, giving your X6 a much more authoritative voice and saving 23kg in weight, at a cost of €6616.40 (R107 235).

That much power isn't available in a kit; your X6M will have to go to Autenzell for the hardware and Bi-Tronik 2 V3 software upgrade - which will add €5236 (R84 875) for the software and €2645.80 (R42 880) for installation to the bill.

To save you the calculations, the grand total for a Stage 3 conversion is €20 985.40 (R340 130) ex works - and you still have to supply the base X6M. But the finished article - all 2.3 tons of it - will howl through the standing quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of more than 300km/h.

Power is nothing without control

G-Power also recommends a set of GX6M-RS electronically adaptive coilover suspension units at €2727.50 (R44 180) plus €650.51 (R10 540) for installation, as well as 23 inch Hurricane RR aircraft-spec forged-alloy rims, shod with 325/25 low-profile radials at €2511.50 (R40 700) each - not including the tyres!

Question, with such low mileage on these cars, why are they up for sale?
Are they dealer demo's?
Why would you drop almost 2bar on a car and then get rid of it with only 8k km on the clock? There must be a rather large financial loss surely?
Or are these out on HP and the buyer simply couldn't afford it long term or only want it for a few months for bragging rights?

They need new tyres.

German tuner turns BMW X6 M into a super-SUV...

In standard form, the BMW X6 M is one capable performance crossover, thanks largely to its throaty twin-turbo 4,4-litre V8. The tuners over at Manhart, however, thought that this machine could do with a bit more power. The result is this, the BMW MHX6 700.

The tuned X6 has been fitted with a relatively subtle body kit, which Manhart claims will provide an aerodynamic advantage. The update includes a new bonnet with extra air intakes, spoilers front and rear, and a diffuser round back. All of these components are fashioned from carbon-fibre.

The X6 M also gains an H&R coilover suspension kit, giving the SUV a lower stance. This is accompanied by a set of 295/30 ZR22 front and 335/25 ZR22 rear tyres wrapped round a set of Concave One alloy wheels.

As far as performance is concerned, a software update sees the BMW MHX6 700 delivering 522 kW and 900 N.m (up from 423 kW and 750 N.m) to all four wheels through the standard eight-speed Steptronic torque converter transmission.

To give it more of a characterful sound, the crossover has furthermore been fitted with a stainless steel muffler (with flap control), larger tailpipes and downpipes with 300-cell catalysts.

Manhart hasn’t revealed any official performance figures for its creation, so we don’t know exactly how much faster it is than the standard X6 M, which boasts a 0-100 km/h time of 4,2 seconds. Still, it’s likely to be well under the 4,0-second mark…

BMW X5M and X6M Black Fire editions revealed

Model-unique elements including Sapphire Black Metallic paint and carbonfibre mirror caps for special edition performance SUVs; on sale in August

BMW has revealed new Black Fire special editions of the X5M and X6M performance SUVs.

Due to go on sale in August, the cars are mechanically identical to the regular X5M and X6M, but have model-unique styling elements aimed at providing them with an added dash of exclusivity.

Living up to their name, the X5M and X6M Black Fire come exclusively with Sapphire Black Metallic paint, a black grille with black louvres, and carbonfibre mirror caps. They also get 21in black alloys that are 10in wide at the front and 11.5in wide at the rear.

Inside, the two cars get black and red leather upholstery, an anthracite-coloured headliner, electrically-adjustable front M-sport seats with integrated headrests, and black high gloss trim elements.

As with the standard X5M and X6M, the Black Fire models are powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine with 567bhp at 6000rpm and 553lb ft of between 2200 and 5000rpm.

Drive is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed torque converter-equipped automatic gearbox.

The SUVs can go from 0-62mph in 4.2sec and reach an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

Fuel consumption is officially 25.5mpg and CO2 emissions are 258g/km.

'Black Fire' versions of BMW X5 M, X6 M heading to SA!

BMW has revealed two new special edition versions of the X5 M and X6 M. Meet the new Black Fire Edition models…

BMW South Africa says it plans to bring in 25 units (ten of the X5 M and 15 of the X6 M) of these new special editions, set to be available locally in October 2017.

The Munich-based automaker says the Black Fire derivatives are each finished in Sapphire Black Metallic, a paintjob complemented by the black, M-badged double kidney with (black) bars.

These special models furthermore feature 21-inch M alloy wheels (in, you guessed it, black), shod with mixed-sized tyres. Carbon-fibre mirror-caps are another distinguishing exterior factor.

Inside, you’ll find electric M seats with integrated headrests trimmed in fine-grain Merino leather, in contrasting black and Mugello Red. The red seams on the leather upholstery are repeated on the central console.

The headliner is finished in anthracite, while much of the interior trim is trimmed with piano black panels. The “Edition Black Fire” logo adorns the right side of the interior trim on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Under the bonnet, though, nothing has changed. Each model is still powered by a raucous 4,4-litre V8 worth 423 kW and 750 N.m, allowing a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 4,2 seconds. The rear-bias xDrive four-wheel drive system and an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission come standard.
