2015 Civic Type R

This is rather ridiculous. For all intents and purposes, this is a boy-racer hot hatch. Golf R manual (as I saw in today's price list in Cape Times) is R537 000 odd. Although that most probably excludes having to actually buy a proper motor plan.

Golf R auto is R555 000 odd; BMW m235i auto is R595 000 (scary how the prices have risen in the last year or so).

Who exactly will spend money on this? What "youngster" would cough almost R600k for a car that is slower than a Golf?

It will be more reliable than a Golof.

Is the Golf actually faster?
Because I can't remember that it is. I stand to be corrected though.

Saw it the other day and in the flesh it's quite something.

Has it's own stand alone pedigree and doesn't just look like another Civic as previous models did.

Was at launch /charity event on Saturday

Cool pics. Was this at Cape Town or Jozi? 1st pics looks like CW; Jozi plates throwing me off.

1st pic looks like owners cars not dealer cars.

I still say the infotainment system looks like an aftermarket jobbie

CT, Canal Walk.

The 3 parked outside were owners cars and I think the ones inside were the dealerships (pre-owned I suspect, saw a few on AutoTrader already). There's a long waiting list for brand new.

Car sounds amazing for a stock 4 cylinder :)
