Hi, hope you guys can help. I know nothing about cars.

I have a 2015 (Old shape) Ford Figo Ambiante 1.4 (Petrol), No Ford dealership seems to want to tell me what type of fan belt my vehicle uses.

Is there anybody that might know which fan belt my vehicle uses? I was told by Ford on my last service (80k km) that I need to replace it,

Thanks

Is it written Duratec on top? It has two belts, one driving a set of pulleys and the other taking care of the rest.

Go to Ford with your Vin number, tell them you need auxiliary belts for your Ford Figo, they will sort you out, you don't even need to know what type of belt it is.

Thanks, It does say DURATEC. Iv called them before, multiple branches, They’ve told me they don’t know..Never asked for my VIN number.

so it’s not just one Fan belt, it’s actually 2 belts? Is the attached image correct?

Perhaps they are confused by your question of what type of fan belt your car uses, I actually don't know as well, all I know is that is a V belt and it's made of rubber. No the attached drawing is of a different model, I could be wrong though, just pop open the hood and check if it's one belt or two, the model I have seen similar to yours has two.

What is you intention if I may ask? Do you want to buy the belt and get it fitted somewhere?

Same engine, yours is perhaps the 1.4.

When I contacted Ford (3 dealerships) I asked them if they can assist me in telling me what type of fan belt my vehicle uses, I asked them exactly like that..I went to a ford dealership (The one I service my vehicle at) and they quoted me R2100 for the new felt, I called the exact same dealership to ask what type it was, and they couldn't tell me.

knowing nothing about cars is so frustrating, I want to purchase the belt and get someone to fit it.

(R2100 is a bit steep as I have just spent +- R15000 on a new central locking kit, alarm, battery and a 80000km service)

This sounds about right, I have Aircon, okay, so you were right in the beginning, where you mentioned 2 belts,:cautious: I will have to pay the R2100 and get just get it done. Wasn't looking for a way out, just a cheaper alternative.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

That is a pretty penny, what was expensive, the alarm system or the 80k kms service?

Try calling Goldwagen. They will ask you for your Vin number. They are normally very helpful and much, much cheaper than the agents.
