( Can't decide - all three deserve it. )

There are movies and performances in there I'd score at 9 (or 9.5 for Mad Max) but the one I'd grudgingly rate at 5.5, The Revenant, will beat 'em. The Academy cannot be trusted I tell you.

The Revenant didn't really grab me either.
But, as you said, it will probably win.
The only other movie that I have seen in the Best Picture category is Brooklyn which I thought was pretty good.

Did either of you like Birdman?

Nope. Last year's crop was awful 'tho, oh, and I didn't like Babel either. Thank God that ran into Scorsese at award time.
Beginning to feel my relationship with Inarritu is like the one I have with Terrence Malick. I always give them one more chance and they always rub my nose in it.

EDIT: Wait, Grand Budapest was last year. That shoulda won!

Tell you what 'tho... After forgetting about Grand Budapest, I've been checking out who was nominated and who won for the last couple of years. The last time, well for me at least, there was a serious Oscar heavyweight battle was in 2007.
No Country For Old Men vs There Will Be Blood vs Michael Clayton vs Atonement with Juno there for moral support.

Ah yeah, wasn't that the year Atonement won the BAFTA over those, to some consternation?

Loved all those movies, come to think of it.
