2016 Kia Optima

It is and i know its silly. I went and test drove a few once and they are not bad cars. I would just rather go with the trusted brands that i know about having never owned a Kia

See, I think that Kia (and by extension Hyundai) can be added to those "trusted" brands. Their service and sales network is certainly large enough to not feel that they are niche brands anymore. I'm quite happy with mine, and would purchase another over the likes of Opel, Toyota and Nissan, as examples.

2.0L T please.

This. Disappointing that neither Kia nor Hyundai brought the 2.0T to SA in the current Optima/Sonata. Probably would have struggled to justify the cost.

Should have looked like this. Concept cars is always cool and the production car .....

Kia and Hyundai are making some really good cars these days.

The only sad bit being that the models sold in SA lack many features and engine options that are available elsewhere.

E.g compare the new i20 to one sold in the UK.
the UK model has a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, prohprojector headlights, daytime running lights, 7" sstnav and reverse camera. Most of these as standard features and none of them available in SA.

It was pretty similar with the old model.
reverse camera which shows up the in the rear view mirror, daytime running lights and a 1.6 CRDi motor with more power and the same fuel economy as the 1.4 CRDI sold here
