Next-generation Lexus LX delayed due to semiconductor shortage
Production of the next-generation Lexus LX, which will be using the underpinnings of the current Toyota Land Cruiser 300, has been delayed due to the ongoing semiconductor crisis. This may also filter through to affect the smaller NX as well.
Based on information sourced from a Lexus dealership by Creative311, the official reveal of this car, which was scheduled to take place next month, will be pushed back as well to aid in suppressing registrations from potential customers. It’s also understood that production of the aforementioned Land Cruiser 300 is also under strain due to this same reason. The Lexus dealership confirms that the manufacturer is in the process of adjusting operations to aid with the delay.
Another product that is seeing considerable production strain due to high interest is the recently updated Lexus NX of which pre-orders commenced just a few weeks ago. It’s expected that this model’s production will be suspended as well.
Astute readers may recall that the next-generation Lexus LX was leaked alongside the Land Cruiser 300 a few weeks before its official reveal. This example displayed similar proportions to the LC300 but with design cues that were more in line with the luxury arm’s current design philosophy. This includes the spindle grille at the front and a taillamp bar that stretches across the rear.
