A bigger MINI so you can fit more than a watermelon on the back seat. How can that be "one of the more pointless Mini models"?

But besides the practicality factor of the car in general, looks-wise those rear lights are really extraordinarily hideous... looks like someone printed stickers that look like lights and stuck it flat against the back!

So basically one's paying that price for Golf 5 GTI power circa 2005 (147kw/280nM).

Honestly it loos like an overpriced loaf of bread to me...

Classic, or as it is know in Afrikaans "Klasiek". It is a combination of the works "kla" which means to moan and "siek" which means sick. So basically it is perpetuation a moaning sickness look.

The Mini Clubman JCW has been revealed; it's making its debut at the Paris motor show.

The Clubman JCW is the flagship amongst the Clubman range, and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 228bhp and 258lb ft of torque — increases of 39bhp and 51lb ft over the next most powerful Clubman, the Cooper S.

Mini claims a 6.3sec 0-62mph time and a top speed of 148mph. This sprint time puts it directly between the Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 TFSI Sport (0-62mph in 6.9sec) and S3 Sportback (5.3sec). It’s slower than both, though. The 2.0 TFSI has a top speed of 151mph and the S3’s is a governed 155mph.

The Clubman JCW benefits from Mini’s All4 four-wheel drive system, as well as upgraded suspension, braking, cooling and exhaust systems. The turbocharger has been tweaked, too, and is made from a material that can withstand extreme heat.

These exterior changes comprise more aggressive and aerodynamically beneficial front and rear bumpers, as well as a rear wing. The Clubman JCW also gets exclusive 18in wheels, while inside, an Alcantara headliner and sports seats have been fitted.

The Clubman JCW is priced between the two A3 variants, at £29,345 in manual form, or £30,945 when fitted with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

UK deliveries are expected to get under way in December.

The new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman offers all the style, practicality and fresh-thinking of the Clubman, combined with the high performance and sporting dynamics of the John Cooper Works range.

The result is a unique and exclusive proposition that combines the John Cooper Works-specification engine and corresponding modifications with MINI's ALL4 all-wheel drive system. In creating this potent model, able to take full advantage of the maximum possible traction in all conditions, MINI has created a powerful but practical vehicle that's fun to drive in the true spirit of a MINI.

As the latest member of the John Cooper Works family, the MINI John Cooper Works Clubman features all the upgrades already seen on the John Cooper Works Hatch and Convertible models. These include the 231 hp engine with modified MINI TwinPower turbocharger, sports suspension and powerful braking system. A 0-62 mph time of just 6.3-seconds and a top speed of 148 mph is the result, but not at the expense of economy or emissions; with up to 41.5mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions as low as 154 g/km.

The MINI John Cooper Works Clubman is instantly recognisable thanks to its more aggressive front and rear bumpers, and its rear wing. These not only help reduce lift, but in the case of the front section, assist with the additional cooling requirements of the more powerful engine. Unique alloy wheels and John Cooper Works badging also denote the top-of-the-range Clubman, as does the option of the special colour 'Rebel Green'.

It looks better in the pictures then it does in person. Looks like a Chinese knockoff from the back. That cluster is awfully busy, like something out of Elite Dangerous
