I can't talk for others, but I used Martial as my comparison. But one cannot deny that Firminho has come good after a while. But, Torres, anyone?

Based on what others have been saying, it was about "wasted" money on players? I must have missed the fact that it was about current players.
 
Torres was perhaps a waste of money to Chelsea, but never to Liverpool.
We cannot judge a players worth on trophies alone. Torres was a bargain for Liverpool.

Balotelli - world cup winner... scoring for fun and currently helping Nice to that number 1 spot... definitely worth the 16m Pool paid for him but Rogers and Klopp can't get the best out of him
