Honda says that CarPlay compatibility is an option rather than a standard feature.
The 2018 Ridgeline offers customers an array of standard and available premium features and technologies in a cabin outfitted with high quality, soft-touch materials that are a step above the competition. Available advanced technologies include an 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, HD Radio, SiriusXM 2.0, up to four USB ports and Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System.
There are four 2WD models and five AWD models in the line-up, with prices ranging from $29,360 to $43,120.
The truck also has a range of safety-focused tech.
Ridgeline also continues to offer the comprehensive Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver assistive features including Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
Honda continues to add CarPlay support to its vehicles, with the Odyssey Minivan, Civic Type R, Clarity, Accord and Fit Sport among the models to offer compatibility in the past few months.
It’s not just small trucks that offer CarPlay compatibility these days: it’s also available in both Scania and Volvo semis.

The Honda Ridgeline has been the darling of the midsize truck world since the truck debuted in 2016. Journalists have for years now fawned over the vehicle’s smooth ride, agile handling, good fuel economy, impressive interior space and decent utility. But what very few have complimented is the front-end styling. Now Honda has fixed it. Well, sort of.
I refer to the front-end styling as the Ridgeline’s “Most Baffling Problem” for a reason. Back in 2016, about a half a year after the truck’s Detroit auto show debut, I interviewed Honda engineers for an article that I’d later title “Midsize Trucks Don’t Need Frames.” We discussed all the work Honda’s body team put into ditching the previous-generation Ridgeline’s sail pillars to give the new vehicle a more trucklike look.
Honda even made it clear in its press release for the 2017 Ridgeline that engineers were looking to give the vehicle a more “conventional” design profile. From Honda:
Utilizing fully boxed frame members for the body sides and rear tailgate frame, the truss-style rear inner construction contributes to the new Ridgeline’s more conventional three-box design profile—allowing for the elimination of the buttress-style body structure in the forward portion of the upper bed on the previous model—while contributing to a 28-percent gain in torsional rigidity versus the previous model.

Bolder, brutish Ridgeback - Honda gives its double-cab bakkie a major overhaul
• Honda gave its Ridgeback bakkie a major facelift.
• The Ridgeback is only for sale in America.
• The bakkie is available in front- and rear-wheel-drive configurations.
For a decade and a half, local bakkie fans have jealously observed Honda's double-cab from afar.
If you want to own one, an American life is your only option to make that possible. Unlike most of the large bakkies that American customers buy in record numbers, the Ridgeline is not a heavy-duty haulage double-cab.
It is closer, in design-purpose and robustness, to a conventional SUV. Why do the Americans have access to Ridgeline and the rest of the world doesn't? Due to the size of America's bakkie market, Honda could justify the original investment in a country-specific unibody double-cab

Honda Wants To Set The Ridgeline's Off-Road Record Straight At The 2021 Rebelle Rally
Big Red will try to settle the debate about its pickup's off-road prowess.
Honda has announced its entry into the 2021 Rebelle Rally just in time, as the rally is kicking off on October 7. The Japanese carmaker is sending two of its own engineers to the Rebelle, behind the wheel of a 2021 Honda HPD Ridgeline with a few extra modifications.
The acronym stands for Honda Performance Development, which you might recognize as Honda’s North American motorsport experts. The HPD package for the Ridgeline is mostly just for looks, but the truck running in the Rebelle sports functional upgrades, like a custom exhaust system, skid plates for its oil pan and gas tank, and a suspension lift kit.
It also has all-terrain tires wrapped around its bronze-colored wheels, which look like the right amount of wheel and sidewall. The HPD Ridgeline also has some extras, the coolest being the tire carrier in its bed that’ll fit two full-size spares. And it’s been fitted with some other accessories from Honda, among them roof rails, crossbars and a basket.
Overall, the ’21 HPD Ridgeline looks the part of a tough off-roader. Whether it can play the part as well is yet to be seen, but the teammates are a good fit as any to prove the Ridgeline’s capability.

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline is ready to work hard and play even harder with improved off-road performance, updated styling and a more high-tech cabin. The first-ever Honda Ridgeline TrailSport is more off-road capable, engineered to get weekend adventurers even further off the beaten path with new features, including an off-road-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires and steel underbody protection. All 2024 Ridgeline models will begin arriving in dealers this winter.
"With every new TrailSport model we bring to market, Honda light trucks get more rugged than ever and the increase in Ridgeline's off-road performance continues that trend," said Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda Auto Sales, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Our more rugged Ridgeline will continue its strong momentum with sales up over 20% this year."
Taking Ridgeline's rugged styling even further, "RIDGELINE" is stamped across the tailgate while the grille gets a sporty new mesh design.
Inside, more advanced tech has been smartly integrated to enhance Ridgeline's cabin experience. A new 7-inch digital instrument panel is now standard, featuring an all-digital tachometer on the left and a physical speedometer on the right. The display also includes user-selectable functions, such as Honda Sensing® settings, vehicle information and more.
All Ridgeline trims get a new larger 9-inch color touchscreen with a faster processor for lag-free performance. Additionally, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility is now standard, and Ridgeline's integrated navigation system has been simplified with new graphics and fewer menus. The Ridgeline Black Edition adds upgraded speaker performance to further enhance the listening experience of its premium audio system.
