2026/7 Tata Aeris Review - Team-BHP
Tata Aeris Pros
• Smart looks matched to a solid build. Many interesting colours available too• Good-quality, nicely designed cabin. Lots of storage and a 419L boot
• Well priced for what it offers; starting price undercuts its direct competitors
• 1.2L petrol and CNG powerplants offer good drivability. AMT available with both motors
• City-friendly nature: light controls, agreeable ergonomics & decent driveability
• Stable on-road behaviour, including at highway speeds
• Features such as keyless entry & go, cruise control, ventilated seats, 10.25-inch touchscreen head-unit, paddle-shifters for the AMT variants, wireless charging, climate control, cooled glovebox, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity, connected car features, auto LED headlamps and tail-lamps, rain-sensing wipers and more
• Safety kit includes 6 airbags, ESP + ABS + EBD + CSC, 3-point seatbelts for all, ISOFIX child seat mounts, dashcam recorder, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, hill hold, iTPMS, etc.
Tata Aeris Cons
• Mediocre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine lags behind the competition. Slow by current standards, and the NVH is sub-par• We feel that Tata should have offered the 1.2L turbo-charged motor in this all-new Aeris (it's already used in the Punch)
• Jerky AMT can't match the smoothness & shift-times of a conventional automatic. Gets confused on climbs as well
• Engine noise gets disturbing at higher rpms - starts getting harsh & loud near the redline
• Poor fit & finish levels compared to the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze etc.
• Rear seat is suitable for 2 adults, not 3
• Some missing features/deletions such as glovebox illumination, driving modes, passenger vanity mirror light, full-size spare wheel & more
• Tata's after-sales service quality is a hit or miss. Remains a gamble
