TOYOTA REVEALS INTERIOR IMAGES OF THE C-HR

Toyota recently announced that it would be bringing the C-HR to South Africa early next year. For those who forgot, the C-HR (Coupe-High Rider) is Toyota’s new light crossover, aimed at tackling the Mazda CX-3 and Renault Captur, based on the Toyota New Global Architecture as used on the new Prius. The manufacturer has finally revealed what the interior will look like.

The interior design isn’t too far off from current models in the Toyota line-up but it does express more of a modern representation. The design team behind the interior stated that their rationale was to create an environment that was both stylish and technologically advanced without sacrificing comfort. Leather touch instruments, piano black trim and the new touch screen infotainment system with blue and brown accenting help create this ambiance.

Standard equipment includes autonomous braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with lane departure alert and steering control, automatic high beam and road sign assist. Higher trim models will get to make use of heated seats, a smart entry system, privacy glass, bespoke upholstery including part-leather seats, intelligent park assist, 18-inch alloy wheels and Bi-tone metallic paintwork. A concert hall sound system by JBL will be an optional extra for all trims.

Toyota's striking new baby SUV coming to SA

Kyalami - Toyota South Africa has confirmed that it will enter the compact SUV market early in 2017 with its C-HR crossover vehicle.
Slotting in under the Rav4 as the brand's rival to vehicles like the Nissan Qashqai, the Auris-sized C-HR (it stands for Compact High Rider) displays distinctive styling with a coupe-like roofline, hidden rear door handles, and sharp geometric curves reminiscent of cousin Lexus.

Not much technical detail was revealed at the car's "launch" at the SA Festival of Motoring (it was displayed only in hologram form), except that it's powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, marking Toyota's long-awaited foray into force-fed petrol engines.

The four cylinder unit produces outputs of 84kW and 185Nm and it will be paired with either a manual or CVT transmission powering the front wheels.

Overseas the C-HR will be optionally available in all-wheel drive but it's not yet confirmed whether this version will come to SA.

Why not call it the High Rider then FFS. Why make it three stupid consonants that mean nothing to most people?

vs.

"What you driving, Bob?"
"CHR"
"See HR? What did i do wrong now?"
 
First time I've seen a car company trolling it's customers.

Its coming in Feb. have been looking at buying a Rav, but might go for this instead. I like small turbo charged engines. And should be around 250k which is not that expensive.
 
Toyota CHR - Mazda CX3 - Honda HRV - Renault Captur - Kia Soul - Suzuki Baleno -Opel Mocca - Nissan Qashqai - Ecosport.

What am I missing? Perhaps some Volksie thingy?
